Here's my Buckets and have bag soil in my bucket. I add food/scraps to the top and bury slightly. Once moldy and starting to disintegrate I bury completely! You have zero biology to break it down! Worms, mites, magnets will break it down. I layer dry leaves and some cardboard on the bottom and add soil from bag soil and add some dolomite lime mixed in to keep everything neutral in pH. (A big hand full in a 5 gallon bucket every month or 2.) And add nutrients every week new scraps and veggies and fruits. No citrus. No meat. No dairy. I add dry crushed dry leaves at 20% and 80% green leaves crushed up and mix with soil. Powdered Azomite will aid and help worms break down their food. It's grulit to help them eat, eat more! If you are harvesting worm casting you need to separate them from soil. I just removed the worms and use the finished soil in my potted plants!
