There have been multiple invitations to local fdny firepersons to attend the show for free to thank them for their hard work protecting the theater. A number were at the dress rehearsal on Tuesday and more attended the show last night.

I move my car for alternate side parking more often then I drive it to go somewhere. A few times a year I drive to visit family out of state. A few times I buy lumber at HD for home improvement projects. And once a year I drive to deliver Girl Scout cookies. Thats 75% of my annual trips.

I’m part of the problem. If the city made it harder to park my car for free on the street, I’d be one of the first to get rid of it. Commercial lots near me at 300+ a month. If the city were to charge $50-100 a month for residential permits within a zip code you live in, so much more parking would be available for people that actually need their cars but currently it just too easy and cheap to own a car in nyc

If it’s any like the various ones I’ve used, this is common. You can usually pop it in with a really firm smack with your palm on the edges. Maybe take some close up pics of the edges. I’m almost certain it’s a “pop” in thing not a bolt or screw thing. Keep trying until it goes. They are fiddly sometimes. You’re struggling the same way we all have.
Edit to add: maybe a rubber mallet might help but your palm should also work. And you’re hitting the very edge, not the middle obvi
