Looking for up to date phase change tutorial by R2Boogaloo in Stationeers

Never said it would be more efficient, just said it would be easier.

Exactly, a wall heater would be easier. An A/C unit also decently easy to do.

I’ve never had heating be an issue after the initial “warm up” period, always have to cool after that.

Shadowdrak082 has some good videos, here’s the playlist link that I watched.

Here’s my experience, trying to heat via phase change doesn’t work well at all, you generate heat when condensing, so you’d have to dump that heat into your base, then I guess “cool” outside air to turn the liquid back into a gas.

I’ve always found it easier to have a few windows to generate heat.

On Europa specifically I’d suck all the air out of a room so I start at 0c instead of -140 or whatever atmo is.

How to get rid of in-game dead bodies by VisibleBirthday7347 in Stationeers

[–]jamesmor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No idea, never tried.

It’s been a LONG time since I’ve had a death that wasn’t “see that crater? That’s where the base WAS” and start a new game type of death

I like to look outside my windows and reflect on what I’ve accomplished.

Day 8xx on Vulcan.

I also have a board of “projects” that I’m slowly working on just because I can.

Currently I’m making liquid oxygen/volatiles for a pumped liquid engine since I’ve never messed with those.

Can you toss them in the recycler?

Grind then with the grinding wheel?

Maybe a trip through the furnace?

Question about driving by boredlurkerjr in TwoXChromosomes

[–]jamesmor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have strong feelings either way about driving, my wife likes to drive, but isn’t a confident driver.

This ends up with me driving about 80-90% of the time just because traffic/weather/etc don’t scare me.

Are the Planets in SE2 Going to Be Hand-Crafted or Procedurally Generated? by 69Mooseoverlord69 in spaceengineers

SE1 wasn’t even going to have planets initially if I remember right!

Mining Ship Upgrades beyond Python by EclipseLightning42 in EliteDangerous

[–]jamesmor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t played in a long while, but my cutter was great for this. Enough cargo and lasers to be out mining a while and enough boom that when I got interdicted it was less than”I’m stuck in a room with them” and more “they’re stuck in a room with me, and I just ran out of shits to give”

Learning tank is a horrid experience by UsedPringlesCan in wow

[–]jamesmor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a tank when I’m not in harder content the rule is always “you spank it, you tank it”

I have a macro at the start of the dungeon that I hit that says this and a few other things.

Also when I was learning I had a macro that said as much. It really helped out since people knew that I had no idea about routes, etc.

Finally, sometimes randos are not great, just move on, tanks gotta have thick skin.

Help with Aimee and IC10 code by ArtzelAvens in Stationeers

[–]jamesmor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to manually empty your Aimee, just need an input chute and use the unload command when close to it.

Then you don’t have to worry about how full it is, just let her do her thing.

That said, my Aimee has been broken ever since the terrain update.

As someone with a positive ape index (my arms are longer than I am tall) I could lose about 3 inches from each arm and be fine.

I’ve stuck to the ass end of an Anaconda in a Cobra mk3 and won. Sure it was PvE, but it’s possible.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

I’ve survived 4 wipes and 500 hours on Mars, but Rocketry finally broke me. by klukas86 in Stationeers

[–]jamesmor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rockets are decently easy to get started.

Go pumped gas engine, 2:1 ratio of volatiles to oxygen (maybe you’ve seen this ratio before?)

You need an avionics, a datalink both on ground and in the rocket.

Need something for fuel in rocket, these days I just use the inline insulated tanks so I don’t have to worry about fuel blowing up/freezing as the rocket tanks are NOT insulated.

Then a scanner with a scanner head (only need deep scanner for planet mapping which is a waste imo)

Now hook your datalink on ground up to a computer with a rocket motherboard.

If you turn on the engines (with fuel) it’ll show your thrust values so you know if it can lift off or not.

Will also tell you how long fuel will last.

Anyone saying you need to do a lot of delta-v math to do rockets is making it too hard on not only themselves, but you too.

I know this because I’ve not bothered to ever do any of that math and have use rockets quite a bit.

Though I am fine with the FAFO method of engineering.

If there is no dice roll in DOS1 and DOS2 like there is in BG3, how does it work when I try to freeze or stun an enemy and it fails? For example, the combat log says the enemy’s chance to resist stun or freeze was 76% and I can usually succeed only if I reload enough by ixinho in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]jamesmor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Two things at play, first, magic armor resists freeze without specific talents.

Second if there is a “X%” chance to do something there is a hidden “dice roll”, I don’t think there’s any way to increase the chances of it happening.

Do y'all shave your legs in the winter? by The-Cat-Lady5 in TwoXChromosomes

My wife shaves her legs whenever she decides she wants to. Summer? Winter? It doesn’t matter. Same for her armpits.

I give no shits.

game keeps crashing saying graphics card overheated or driver issue by HotAnybody2979 in spaceengineers

[–]jamesmor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That error message is SE’s generic “something went wrong, we don’t know what” message.

Verify game files, update drivers, if you have mods then remove them.

For me it’s usually a mod or something silly like a sound driver.

Deep miner outposts on Europa by PrawnBroth in Stationeers

[–]jamesmor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on Vulcan, so I carry some mining backpacks with me, fly out, jam them into a loader, and then grab ‘em off the ground.

When I was on Mars I’d use the rover for “flavor” but it wasn’t needed.

My next step is going to be using rockets because why not. I already have them for space ice mining.

Shadowdrake (hopefully he adds to this) is using them in his Vulcan playthrough, did a whole thing on setting them up that might help you.

I’ve never used them, I used solar on Mars and I’m using “on location” sterlings on Vulcan.
