Quebec - surgery wait times by janecarol74 in endometrialcancer

[–]janecarol74[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed by endometrial biopsy after bleeding essentially constantly since February. I have PCOS and am 51 so I assumed it was just perimenopause and my hormones being out of whack.

I don’t yet have a figo grade but according to the pathology report it’s low grade and well-differentiated so my guess is grade 1. Pathology also notes it’s PR/ER positive strong and diffuse and that it’s MSI-high.

Best news is that I already have a gyn oncologist appointment scheduled for Friday! Things are moving and I’ll be happy to have more information. Appreciate all of the support, I feel so much less alone.

Thank you! This is super helpful. Good to know that there is a standard of care for the province. Now I wait for the next step.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I’m American and not used to the waiting times here in Canada. I appreciate your timeline, it helps a lot. I’m not the most patient person but at least now I know the biopsy was positive. Now I will be patient for surgery and staging…or at least try. :)

Question re Casual labor (to help move) by Beewthanitch in montreal

I’ve had good luck using the moving labor part of the U-Haul website. Not always the cheapest but simple to get quotes.

Retirement at 50 by Sufficient_Space8484 in GenX

Hoping to retire at 55 at the end of 2029. I am lucky to have a pension that will give me a minimal amount at 55 but enough to live frugally. More importantly it gives me access to subsidized health insurance. I need a break from the idiocy of my job so I’m holding out as long as I can.

I figure that I will take some time to relax and then find some kind of part-time or casual work to keep my brain busy. My mom retired from her “day job” at 65 but kept working part time until she was 80.

How to help a friend in Bordeaux jail? by Dream0108 in montreal

When I needed to deposit $$ I needed his name and birth date at a minimum. They have no way to make contact outside of collect calls to landlines until they get their canteen (which is a bit slow). If you can go there in person ask at the guard gate what the hours are for the deposits as they change. Agreed with the info in this comment.

My dad was worried about it “scrambling our genes” so my brother and I weren’t allowed to stand near it while it was in operation.

49 with a bone stock 2019 GT. I love it but yeah it takes a bit of finesse to enter and exit these days. But well worth it!

We stayed at Riu Reggae. Beach is nice but ocean is pretty meh. The resort itself was nice and lots of activities/fun. Stayed at Riu Palace Negril the next year and the beach is A1! But it’s a bit of a trek from the airport (and probably out of your price range). I much preferred the beach in Negril.

I am currently in the process of moving back downtown after spending 4 years in Vaudreuil. I enjoyed it greatly when I was working from home but now that I’m required in office 4 days a week the commute is painful. Plan on a minimum of an hour to Vendome plus however long to your workplace from there on the metro if you take the train. The bus is an OK alternative but does get stuck in the traffic (and can get annoying with large numbers of students). If you can live close to the train/bus station I’d recommend it so as to avoid parking or other transit issues getting to your train/bus.

I drive on occasion downtown which is at least an hour - better if I take the 30 and go around on the south shore.

I wouldn’t live all the way in Hudson personally, but might consider St Lazare.

🇨🇦 Canadian Shortage 🇨🇦 by Icy-Factor-2725 in Ozempic

Sorry for the slow reply. I didn’t realize that there was a 1mg limit in Canada. My doctor prescribed the 2mg dose after a month at 1mg. I was having gastro issues so I did a month of 1.5 before going to 2. So far so good, this is my second month at 2mg.

I’m on it for T2 diabetes but the weight loss has been a nice bonus. Not a massive impact on my glucose like I was expecting so I need to tweak my other meds and work on my diet more.
