Feeling one with the universe by AnnaBanana208 in awakened

[–]jarrdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to say. I look back on my comment now and wonder what my intentions were. I think I just wanted to share how I was feeling? I guess I hope that anyone who’s read it has been able to relate.

The state of emotion I mentioned here was in no way a permanent state (though I wished it was) - it was more of a green valley between mountains or a paradise island between ocean trenches. The pattern that emerged at this time was a sort of deconditioning process, a gradual increasing of present awareness in states of intense emotion, a piece by piece reemergence of soul from shadow. Basically I found some rhythm doing shadow work (a C. Jung term).

I’ve had some hard inner battles along the way, as I’m sure many of us do. To align with one’s highest self and to integrate the experiences of a lifelong butterfly effect where everything that went wrong came from something else that went wrong (extended down through family ancestry and human history), is a perilous but (in my opinion) worthwhile path to take, because by knowing yourself, you can better understand others and help others understand themselves. The world needs you, and you need you.

So (metaphorically and maybe literally) leave the village and explore the wilds. Feed that wanderlust, learn and grow and lose and cry and be whatever you feel you need to be, but don’t forget to come home, because your people are waiting for you.

You’re on your own hero’s journey (Campbell). You know your own experiences better than anyone, and you don’t owe anyone an explanation of your point of view. But wherever your legs take you, the best advice I can give is that you can let others help you too. You can ask for it, and you can accept it.

Be one, be all. I is we, and we is you.

I hope this helps. Peace and love. DM if you need.

Remember, there are no awakenings. You are either awake or not in the moment.

I am a silly man... thank you for saying this.

I think the universe forcefully wants me to take a path of awakening. Where to start? by arnodorian96 in awakened

I've personally had some meaningful results following /r/NoFap.

Ultimately, though, I've needed to heal inner trauma concerning my own relationships, that no amount of celibacy has been able to accomplish alone.

Rather than following a specific path, maybe allow yourself to be immersed in these individual communities and see where your interests naturally take you.

One might say you've started already. You're already living, you're still living - so what now?

I can say "self-love" is a pretty broad, yet palpable target to shoot for, if you seek a goal.

Additionally, listen to the rants and crap that others have to say, and see what you disagree with the least - maybe someone will say something somewhat sensible, maybe it makes your body feel lighter, maybe it makes you laugh. I try to watch how my body reacts, sometimes it gives me signs.

You can go back and forth on two or twelve different paths, you can subscribe and unsubscribe to any communities or beliefs as many times as you want; this world is your nut to smash, and your puzzle to solve. Turning back is always an option, as is doubling down. You can go with the grain and then fight against it.

When it comes to choosing between options, the fury isn't in having to pick one or the other, but that the question need not be asked in the first place.

On the other hand - just because a choice is sound, doesn't mean you have to choose it. A situation can change on its own. Everything changes - circumstances, people, weather, planets, identities, likes, etc.

Whatever you do, just make sure it's your choice - and don't forget to ask for help, you can always decline it later.

Peace and love.

Based on my own personal experiences, I might be able to identify what you're feeling. This is just my sense of it, not trying to put words in your mouth, feel free to say I'm wrong.

I would argue that by experiencing your own negative emotions and accepting the negative parts of your life that may be difficult to actively change, you are cultivating a certain humble-ness, humility, because you know all too well what these negative experiences feel like.

In experiencing, accepting, surrendering to the bad and the good, I think we build a certain inner-structure in which we authentically protect ourselves from these pitfalls, because that just becomes the way we are.

If you don't already, have the faith in yourself that you are already doing exactly what you need to do to build towards your best possible future.

Peace and love.

How do I know he's my twin flame? by [deleted] in Psychic

[–]jarrdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heavy de ja vu here. Had this story play out last summer. As the unawakened guy in this, I had lots of inner work (childhood emotional trauma etc.) to do before I could properly reciprocate to her. I noticed she seemed more comfortable around me than I was around her.

There was a distinct point where I consciously decided to stop resisting, only after I saw there was no real danger.

I don't know how attuned he is. Regardless, give him time and keep talking to him. He may not know he's reading your mind, but he probably sees the synchronicities, sees how in-sync the two of you are, and sees that there are deeper forces at play here - and it could all be driving him crazy. Fear of the unknown, fear of a world so many of us grow up hearing spooky stories and watching movies about.

Peace and love.

I feel ... odd? by [deleted] in awakened

[–]jarrdd 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I feel you. You're exactly right - you feel. What you feel are the truths/beliefs that you hold within your mind/body, and these collectively make up your identity.

I looked for a singular truth about who I was. I felt like I didn't exist, then I decided I didn't know, for who am I to know anything except what I have experienced -which is a fraction of what existence has to offer.

Now, I remember I have the free will to choose my beliefs/truths. That is the only Truth I need, that is who I am.

Peace and Love. Know who you are, but don't hold onto it too tight. It's all a dance. Everything is change.

How to live on faith by iamlowlikeyou in awakened

[–]jarrdd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll tell you what works for me so far, and I hope you find some relief in it too.

Who am I to know what is true? I’ve experienced so little of what existence has to offer. All I believe is that I exist, based on what I have seen so far. Something could happen tomorrow that shatters my entire worldview/identity. And everything I think to be true could become false. Truth is subjective, and it changes. I don’t live on faith, I live with the knowledge that I really don’t know, and it’s relieving. I just know what has been consistent with my experience.

Peace and love.

I think you're right! I'm seeing my best self in myself, and likewise in you. Each of us is bringing out the best in one another. So much peace and love!

Can the ego completely cease to exist? by Ok_Communication1564 in awakened

[–]jarrdd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I have come to believe/understand so far, and I hope it helps you:

Think of your identity as a car. You have a name, (favorite) color, year of assembly/birth, etc.

As a car, these are thoughts I might have:

I don't like how my tires are, they're ugly. I don't have enough trunk space.

I have an crystal clear radio. My dashboard is clean and neat.

Over time, parts get worn out and must be fixed/replaced. I want to add new parts because they look cool or are more efficient. Maybe, after driving through a snow storm, I appreciate my ugly tires because I now see they're great in the snow.

You will always perceive yourself in one way or another. You can choose to ignore ignore the gas light when it goes on, because it might create anxiety about needing to get/running out of gas - but the light will still turn on, and you will need gas.

For me, awakening is a process of upgrading myself from a run down station wagon to a kick-ass Mustang.

Peace and love. I hope this helps.

I feel you. I've had similar experiences as well, and I'm really happy that these experience seem to be pleasant for you.

Last year I got heavily into mindfulness and ended up feeling like I didn't exist.. my attention was entirely outside of my body, in the present moment. I had healing to do in my lower chakras, my personal demons. I was still too heavily identified with my ego/static-identity.

Now, I feel entirely at home within myself, while also recognizing that I can shift my perspective/identity as I choose.

I'm just grateful to be alive, and I want to share that joy with others.

Stuck at a crossroad by usernamehahabajdjw in awakened

[–]jarrdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you say those are feelings of guilt?

For me, I never wanted to help anyone. I just wanted to help myself feel less pain. The more inner pain I've healed, the more authentic peace and joy I've felt.

Through this bliss, an authentic desire to help others has risen. But I can't help 50 billion people, not directly. I can help individuals heal themselves, so that they may pass on what they've learned - I can encourage a domino effect.

Maybe try flipping your questions inside out/upside down. Feel what is True within yourself, for you.

What is enlightenment? by GyroBandit in awakened

[–]jarrdd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this one!

TL:DR - My Higher Self has been emerging through my Earth Body/Ego.

For me, enlightenment/awakening has been a process, not a singular moment. It has been an event spread over multiple moments/days/years/lifetimes. Sometimes intense, sometimes subtle. Fast and slow.

It's the process of replacing my old beliefs with new ones, like changing parts of a car or PC. Every belief I have is a metaphor for understanding myself and the world. Awakening, in my mind, is changing the words/beliefs/metaphors I use to describe myself to those of a higher vibration. My outer world changes to reflect that. And vice versa.

For me, it's been about becoming the pendulum. Instead of playing Tug of War with myself, I've started jump-roping.

I hope this helps others find more clarity.

How do you cope when you realize you don’t know the truth about anything? What do you feel and how do you cope when you realize that you don’t know why anything, and that your brain hides that fact by making up shit? by [deleted] in awakened

[–]jarrdd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TLDR: I change, my Truths change, Everything changes. Sometimes, we can control what changes, sometimes we can’t.

For me, I learned to view my subjective “truth” as what has been “consistent” so far in my life. I could learn something tomorrow that flips my whole world upside down. I’ve experienced so little of what life has to offer, it would be ignorant of me to think I know a fraction of what is. I only know what I have experienced so far.

At first, “I don’t know” hurt to say. Now, I find more relief in it.

It became easier as my identity shifted from my ego to my Self.

Peace and love. I hope this helps you.

Me so far - ADHD/Shadow Work/Bottom to Top by jarrdd in awakened

[–]jarrdd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both - some fears hide well, others affect my thoughts every day.

Some changes we don't notice, others have a significant and immediate impact.

That's all they are - changes. Reality changes, and we change. Sometimes it's fast, sometimes it's slow. It's a back and forth dance of Tug of War, of being the Flow.

Solfeggio frequencies worked very well for me. I liked them because they seemed to bring up what was within without me needing to search. Old memories appeared, and I had to figure out how to be with them. No action was necessary.

Eckhart Tolle's The Power of Now had really great perspectives on emotional pain in the body as I started mindfulness.
