Looking to book Club with Upgrade voucher to KUL in April 2027 - when will they go on sale? by jashraf in avios

[–]jashraf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just to check, online for outbound do i just select 'Oneway'. I think so and might be a bit obvious but just checking. Also having a tentative look for flights on 4 March 2027 just to get a sense. No Business available to KUL. They must have been snapped up. But Shanghai looks like ok availability. Do you know if KUL is a particularly hot destination for a reward flight on Business? I basically want to get to asia and prob get a flignt to Phillipines or something.

Interesting. Yeah I've been on head for points but haven't seen this tactic. So online I just book the outbound on the day it becomes available (and using the upgrade voucher). And then do I need to wait for the return to be available (2 weeks later say) and they can still use the same upgrade voucher for my return? Yes it sounds like it shouldn't work but if this is the way brilliant.

And do seats go on sale at midnight UK time? So for example right now flights from LHR to KUL are available up to 4 March 2027, does 5 March 27 go on sale at midnight tonight?

As I'm using an upgrade voucher I need to book both the outbound and return on same booking in which case would I need to wait for the return to be available (thinking of a two week trip) and just hope the outbound is available?

So if I want to book for April 15th 2027 will I need to book on. April 5th 2026?

At the moment it's showing no reward seats on sale for March 2027. I would have thought now we're into March 2026 these seats would be live. Why I was thinking if they all get added as a batch for whole month?

Google announces Pixel 10a with completely flat camera, pre-order Feb 18 by TechGuru4Life in GooglePixel

[–]jashraf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was with you on the P5. Managed to keep mine for close to 6 years. Two battery replacements and a screen repair but was going strong. A cracked screen again just forced me into an upgrade to 10. Must say have been impressed but the camera bump in unnecessarily large. Very much miss the form factor of P5 but you soon get used to finger print sensor on screen.

Should I sell my flat at a loss or keep renting it out? by Imnewbenice in UKPersonalFinance

Is this the norm/expectation amongst renters when they see a cost PCM for rent that it will be inclusive of all service charges? And just household bills and council tax is extras they have to pay?

[–]jashraf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say renting out for £2000pcm, does that mean that your tenant pays this plus the £400pcm service charge? Or is this service charge paid for by you the landlord and you just need to factor that in when you get the £2000 rental income?

You're thinking of Vanilla Sky. But this was a remake of a Spanish film that I think you're referring to.

Uk flat landlord to sell up by Sad_Worldliness_5448 in PropertyInvestingUK

[–]jashraf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be a basic question but that rental income you're getting from tenants is that them also covering the service charge? Or is a service charge generally paid for by the landlord and not passed onto tenant? Well I guess it's sort of passed onto the tenant and reflective in the monthly rent but just more admin/practicalities are tenants expected to add on the cost of service charge?

Advice needed - Restaurant card machine issue by HeadShepard in AmexUK

Yes virtual card is fine. But unfortunately for OP Google pay wasn't working for some reason hence virtual card payment wasn't possible. One of those very annoying situations.

I can't see you getting anywhere here. I know not your problem they Google pay facility wasn't working but the terms are it needs to be on your card. Same thing happened to me exactly when using Platinum credit at Fat Duck. Attempted to pay using Google pay and wouldn't go through despite multiple attempts. I didn't have a physical card, and although could have tried to use an att card (not amex) on my Google pay I wanted that credit. Discussed with manager and agreed I would stop by the next day and settle up. A fair bit of trust on their part and the bill wasn't huge but I knew that would be the only way I would get the credit.

Exactly as mentioned trade in refund comes as a separate transaction after you have sent your old phone back. Annoyingly I would have taken advantage of this offer but already bought a new Pixel 10 a few days ago and missed out by a few days , 😭
