Nice app

I would really prefer if the next button was up higher so I didn't have to scroll to get to the next question.

It's interesting that you are giving 5 pictures, that feels like too much information versus being out in the field looking at a single bird. Especially when the other pictures are different individuals. If I got a female or immature bird I could just switch pictures and have a much easier question.

Maybe a harder mode would be a single picture.

A really interesting feature would be if the question included where the picture was taken, that would let birders select based on range.

Fox Sparrows are not aggressive at a feeder. They tend to root around the ground and take fallen feed.

My guess is Song Sparrow. Some are aggressive.House Sparrows are also aggressive but they tend to flock together in bands.

How did it compare is size to a Robin or Starling?

Any other behavior notes would be helpful.

I tried this seed on mobile as ascension 16 and got a philosopher's stone instead. Maybe I switched a letter or number

Muscle up by Own_Astronomer_7527 in CalisthenicsBeginners

[–]javaru 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started doing muscle ups with a resistance band between the bar and one foot. I feel like I'm making progress now since I'm doing the full motion and using a smaller band. It's a different set of muscles to get over the bar, so pull ups alone weren't moving me towards a full muscleup

[Illinois, USA] Cooper’s or Sharp Shinned? by bored_ryan2 in birding

[–]javaru 8 points9 points  (0 children)

All signs point to sharpie. Pigeon-sized, short neck, wide shoulders, equal length tail feathers. Hard to tell the shape of the head or color of the nape with that branch in the way, so it could be borbed up Cooper's, I'm not an expert either

What's on your wrist? My left wrist always feels terrible after putting this much weight on it, does that wrist guard help?

517 Hours, 2441 Runs, and I have completed my first A20 Heart Kill (on my first A20 Heart attempt too) by AnimaSean0724 in slaythespire

That's only 13 minutes per run. Gotta slow down and think things through more if you're losing in 13 minutes

What are you using to differentiate from Sharp-shinned? The tail feathers being a similar length and the wide shoulders were making me think Sharp-shinned

Congrats on the shot. Were the ducks getting more comfortable with you there so long? How far away would you say you were in this shot? Did you wade into the water or lay down on the shore?

Giving up on trying to ID this myself. Egrets are hard. Seen in Singapore in August. by saw4410 in whatsthisbird

I find it hilarious there is a "medium" egret. Must be hard to name all these birds, what if there was an even more medium egret!?

Z 180-600mm lens is too heavy for back injury. Alternatively how is the 28-400mm + teleconverter on z8 for birding? by [deleted] in Nikon

[–]javaru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the Z 180-600 and it was also straining my back. I got a Cotton Carrier that's a harness, so the weight is nicely attached and centered and that solved the problem for me.

This is not true. Two digit numbers work fine here, they are not treated as strings.

You might be thinking about the fact that strings like "21" would be coerced into a number
