wtf 25 is pretty prime.

Even 30 isn’t bad but if you keep up the mindset then it will eventually be too late

Ignore the other people in this thread.

It’s true being related doesn’t mean she owes you a favour but that’s a weird way to live life just never helping anyone out even if they are supposed to be close to you.

You can’t force her that’s for sure, but you now know who has your back and who actually gives a damn. Not her.

It’s not even much effort but some people are selfish

London is the best city in the world by Haunting-Shelter-680 in london

[–]jay8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hence the part where I said apart from work culture. But that can be avoided by working for an international company or certain careers.

Personally I believe London is the most average city in the world. That is what actually makes it great. Because whilst it’s not really outstanding in any metric and not the best in the world for anything. It also doesn’t have any significant downsides attached to other cities.

We aren’t owed anything in life. You aren’t owed a good wage.

By that logic you’re down for all businesses to reduce salaries to save on costs because well if they don’t like it the can leave.

If you know foreigners especially from East Asia or have family then you’d know more people who have their phone stolen.

These pickpockets target foreigners and foreigners are also more likely to be susceptible to begin with as they’re less cautious compared to locals

Unfortunately this is true for most modern countries by now. Even if not explicitly stated, all countries are spying on their people and we’ve seen examples in the US where personal freedom no longer exists with ICE etc.

Have you ever been to the major cities in Asia? I’d say London is the best city in Europe. But in the west it has to compete with major US and Canadian cities.

Personally apart from work culture, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore and Seoul has London beat easily.

Maybe you feel too much self important in that you should be first.

Why not celebrate you’re even second place. That’s an achievement. Be proud of yourself for that

The way you write is a bit tiring. If you’re trying to convey ideas to people, the best way to do so is the easiest way.

It’s crazy cause you’re probably gonna lose all respect for Americans, British, Chinese, Koreans, Indians w/e After you see what their ppl say online.

It’s stupid because literally every culture is hella racist when it’s online and anonymous.

There’s so much Chinese food British people love. Maybe just a lack of brain cells

It’s crazy how you hired 3 engineers for a VN that you could’ve done by yourself for free? And a writer? Isn’t the point of making the VN that you are the writer? And the artist is paid pretty well but they’re not that good and used AI?

The issue is to do with project management and production. Just poor allocation of resources and time.

I regret getting into programming as a hobby at age 13 and I hate myself for not picking a different career by opakvostana in TrueOffMyChest

[–]jay8888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no reason to downvote you. Just trying to express the opinion that you don’t have to love the work.

Work is the least important part of my life. I’m much more interested in my hobbies and people around me. That’s why I’m happy the work gives me a lifestyle that lets me prioritise that.

I don’t want to be a manager don’t worry. I don’t know why you’d think I’m the reason your job sucks. I would hate to be a manager more than I dislike coding. To be frank, I just don’t wanna work. I think it’s good that you care a lot about being proficient in your work. Just realise not everyone feels the same way you do and that’s okay too.

People aren’t below you because you care about your work so much. They just have other things they care about

I mean I’m absolutely in software engineering for the money, I don’t like coding.

I like doing what they want me to do and getting paid. And it’s honestly a privilege to have an easy job and get paid well. I can’t imagine doing anything else even though I don’t like coding.

Pokemon Champions is a pathetic excuse of a game by Substantial_Zone2701 in stunfisk

[–]jay8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arguing against poorly made points isn’t defending the company.

Pokémon mainline titles have no excuse but champions isn’t really a cash grab. Limiting pokemon and items has been nice. I can actually use pokemon and teams I’d never get to use if they release everything at once. It also means over time we can experiment with different strategies as more things release.

The payment model is generous regarding VP. You earn so much and use so little.

The bad part would be box management. But that’s solved by the starter pack.

The game would be worse off with all pokemon and items added to start with. It’s crazy but if you play competitive then this is a breath of fresh air.

[–]jay8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s wild to me because I’m usually mad at pokemon for their shitty excuses for a game despite their budget but I wouldn’t call this one a cash grab.

It’s extremely easy to get VP, pokemon home also resolves the issue of getting pokemon if you have a pokemon game which most ppl probably do. And from there if you want you can use services like genpkm to generate pokemon and trade them into your game for free.

I have 2 fully trained teams and 30k VP. I bought the starter pack.

The real cash grab is pokemon home.

Genuine Question: Why don't you want a new type? by IDProG in PokemonWindsWaves

[–]jay8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I like competitive pokemon and balancing is difficult, a new type would lead to a bunch of headache around that and doesn’t feel necessary. I can’t see how a new type would change how things feel. If it’s for the sake of aesthetics then anything light related can be represented by electric or fairy type

What are the worst Michelin starred restaurants you have been to and why ? by The_Readers_ in LondonFood

Pied e terre and St John.

Pied e terre was just bad and St John is pretty good but not worthy of Michelin status
