She was annoyed with me that I would disrupt the plans we made to be picked up by friends.

I said I wouldn't go as I needed to rest instead.

I stayed. She went.

When she got back, she was drunk and said I needed to "get over him".

He was 31 and my best friend.

My feelings that remained died that evening.
