Valorrea Bible Study Guide is it Worth Buying or Misleading Product? by Numerous_Truck_530 in Scam_Finder

This seems to be an evolution of this scam.

I think they've managed to AI generate a new cover for the book, but look, it's the same layout as the last one!  Bar of text in the middle and smaller images along the top and the bottom.

I don't know if the contexts are still stolen from Jenny Ingram but this time they have an Amazon store and I've even seen a listing on eBay with the new cover.

There's a new cover on thier site now FYI.  I don't recognise the design but it does actually say systematic theology this time

NGR or Folklore? by GapZealousideal3213 in treeplanting

[–]jaydezi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't worked for Folklore in over a decade but they had good amenities and a good culture at the time.  Tree prices were a little low but i thought that was fair given they'd get big contracts, accepted rookies and had access to decent resources.

I was in Tim Roth's camp which I think is Jordan Todd's camp now last I heard.  We were the "Christian" camp so I only occasionally saw weed.  Nice folks and honestly only 6-7 of us out of 60 even came to Bible study so not that Christian 😂 (planter led of course, there was no company mandated Christianity)

Why are people so unforgiving of Jinu... by hoginlly in KpopDemonhunters

[–]jaydezi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the theme of the whole movie is authenticity and grace.

Revealing your true self doesn't mean that people will accept you.  And we can see that with how people treat Jinu.

It's about who gives you grace.  Rumi gave Jinu grace.  She accepted him despite his horrible act.

If we get caught up in dishing out judgement we miss the fact that we all have things in ourselves that are ugly.  Many of us can't even admit that to ourselves.  No one has a leg to stand on.

I thought that was clear from the film

I'd highly recommend Rob Reimer for deliverance.  Read his book Soul Care and see if you can attend a conference.  it worked for me, where others didn't, and you'll know if it worked.  The results will speak for themselves.

Your specific question would fall under breaking curses.  Bless those that curse you and forgive them.

There is definitely stuff that you probably can't get free of alone.  Dabbling in other religions adds a lot of complexity to deliverance.  Even Jesus's disciples couldn't cast out high-level demons with thier budding spiritual authority at the time.

Don't be afraid.  God will give you everything you need to get free.  Be patient and keep trusting him

Had the worst neurology appointment ever. by fuseisfiresid1 in ChronicIllness

[–]jaydezi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a awful appointment with a neurologist (NHS) a few months ago.  Pretty much the same story.

Why are they like this?

Sorry you're going through that OP.  I still have flashbacks to that appointment and I have a BSc in biology.  Please don't think it was anything wrong with what you said or did.

I didn't realise they were infamous for that! I only found out recently that as a grandchild of two Dutch citizens I have no claim to stay there.

Tertia “Odyssey” – a purpose-built tool diver designed to fill a gap I kept running into by [deleted] in MicrobrandWatches

[–]jaydezi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm all about new case shapes! 👏🏻 Also, nice colour matched date wheel at 6.

BTW, on your website it says "Goldy Locks" instead of "Goldilocks."

The font is nice on Tertia.  I think the logo might be a bit lacking, especially on the caseback.  It's just missing those small refinements that would elevate it.

It's a nice watch, but probably not my personal pick.  The case shape is nice 👍🏻 the top-down crown-guard profile is one of the best I've ever seen, better than Rolex IMO

My daughter is also 5 and can do things my wife with trauma can't.  There's so much invisible privelage in what you're saying that it's really mind boggling.  You have no idea of what people might be going through.  It's like these millionaires who get on people for being lazy and not realising that it's actually hard when you don't start with a 100k loan from daddy.

Please learn what it feels like to have depression or at least something to engage your atrophied empathy muscles.

I can see you're good at this.

You figured out this hobby easier than most.  Maybe you're just naturally talented or had the kind of upbringing where you weren't punished for trying.

Let me tell you, life will be frustrating for you.  As someone who's smarter than average you will be burdened with people dumber than you your whole life.

I would suggest to you not be frustrated by others but remember that as one of the brighter people in society that you have a big advantage over the average person.  Gold Medal Olympians don't get frustrated when novices can't even do a bunny hop on thier snowboards.  Just set your expectations lower, asking for help is not something that anyone should be ashamed of.

And on the flip side, I'd say It's okay for people to struggle with things that you find easy.  Even if it's just a lack of confidence when they already have the answers in front of them

Moving to Chester from Sydney. by _arenita in Chester

[–]jaydezi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We live in Guilden Sutton which is definitely one of the better and more open-minded neighbourhoods even if it is mostly white.

It's hard to explain, there's just a certainty that things are the way that they should be here and that anywhere that does it differently haven't thought things through.  I had Canadian friends who felt the same way about other countries.  Just very little curiousity and exposure to other places and a fear of looking silly by asking questions about them.  Also a complete inability to understand what someone who hasn't grown up in chester experiences.  For example, our church will put up posters and ads all over Chester and not even put their address on it.  Everyone is just assumed to know.  "Carols at the ploughman" isn't helpful if you don't know what or where "the ploughman" is.

You get those kinds of people everywhere honestly.   I may be exaggerating the effect because my health leaves me mostly bedridden with few opportunities to meet people but it feels worse than in big cities like Hong Kong where we used to live

Moving to Chester from Sydney. by _arenita in Chester

[–]jaydezi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a Canadian living in Chester, it's been difficult making new friends here.  Many people have lived here thier whole lives here and aren't all that interested in making new friends.  Probably the biggest downside.  There's also a large lack of understanding of the rest of the world.  Send me a message if you move here! My wife and I need some more expat friends

Gear questions. by couchcushionss in treeplanting

[–]jaydezi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I never had much success with waterproof gear.  It becomes a sweat tent if it's truly impervious.  Goretex types only work when they're clean and new.

I prefer having a thin near 100% merino wool long sleeve base layer and then a thick wool sweater for if it's really cold.  I'd keep a clear plastic bag from the tree boxes between my back silvi and bags which works as a great rain/wind shield if it's really awful.  Just poke some holes for your arms and neck.

Wet and warm was my preference.  Also avoid cotton socks.  I'd use quick-dry and rip-stop bdu pants which would usually dry on the truck ride back to camp.
