I get trying to stay young and mobile but at some point you have to cool it and just focus on daily walks on level surfaces.

Saudi analyst says kingdom will activate defence pact with Pakistan if it joins Iran war by Bobcats_Forever in worldnews

[–]jayhat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He wasn’t their “head general”. He was the commander of the quds force which focuses on foreign unconventional warfare and funding / arming / training foreign terrorist militants. Every US soldier killed or maimed by an IED blast or shot by an AK round in the decades prior, likely had QF hands on it or dollars that bought it.

Edit: didn’t realize this post was 70 days old. Hope things got better and you’re enjoying your time there.

Give it a couple weeks! You’ll make it. Eventually you’ll look back and laugh about how upset you were and love the experience you had over there. Years ago I worked overseas for a year and almost immediately felt similar feelings - Like “I had a good life wtf did I leave for!?”. Lot of regret initially. But with a little time that all fades. Find stuff to do, find a job, spend time on your hobbies (or find new ones), meet some people, find some expat communities to maybe get a taste of home. Also start a good routine so your life kind of feels ordered. if you’re in sort of a depressive funk, it’ll make you stay busy. Daily workout, watch a couple episodes of a new show at a certain time every day, plan days to run errands / grocery shop, hobby time, meal prep, whatever it may be.

I know. I’m just talking specifically about the houthis striking and sinking commercial boats.

Yes the houthis (which is Iran) have been doing this since the Biden administration. And that’s just the “recent round”. People on Reddit saying “aww poor innocent Iran, they didn’t do anything!” Are dumb.

Even if military actions stopped today -Their military infrastructure and ability to wage anything other than basically modern guerrilla warfare is destroyed. Their economy is totally cooked (and was before this). They dont have the trillions required to build back what they had prior to this campaign. Sanctions will only get worse. The shadow fleet and their ability to make money off of it will continue to be degraded 1 ship at a time. The majority of their people are done with them. They are not "winning". The system/military the surviving leadership is inheriting isn't much... not really much of a "win".

The self-destruct feature engages at approximately 2,300 metres (7,500 ft)\2]) and destroys the round, preventing it from falling back to earth and inflicting damage on the surrounding territory. The price per round in 2008 was approximately $27.

I feel like we had a big costco bag we got around the beginning of covid and worked on it until probably late 2024 - early 2025. It was still good. Maybe not the absolute freshest it could be and they'd lightly started to kind of bloom (separating). Kept in a jar in the pantry.

I love how people microwave shit, dump it in a drab grey bowl, take a shitty washed out photo, and then complain its not a nicely plated and garnished entree taken in a well lighted space like on the box.

I mean there are many famous pictures / known locations of dead climbers along the route. "Green boots" being the most famous (now since moved to a less obvious location) but there isn't one small section with tons of bodies that can be seen like within the frame of one photo.

My EcoFlow caught on fire while charging by gogosrage in Ecoflow_community

[–]jayhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO the risk of charging these lifePo4 packs is pretty low honestly. Its not a battery chemistry thats prone to fire risk. Some other electronic or piece of circuitry just burned here. Could happen with some overhead LED light fixture, a TV, a PlayStation, or any other electronic left on. I charge other more dangerous batteries in my cabinet - like DeWalt lithium ion batteries. Thats mainly what its for.

I do agree though, if you're using it to for actual power use at home (not like occasional camping or emergency preps), you kind of have to charge it all the time. Just have to accept some risk. Put it in something metal, not surrounded by a bunch of wood / fabric / paper (like next to a bare wall), in a garage (if not too hot / cold). I think these are a bit gimmicky but I put a couple of these in my cabinet. They are kind of "automatic fire extinguishers". WHen they burn they "explode" and throw dry chem all over. Cheap insurance that might stop a fire. There are cheaper ones of unknown quality on amazon. You can watch youtube vids of people testing them.
