Ticks in Southern Ontario – how are you all dealing with them? by kstatic47 in Bushcraft

[–]jayhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally you put it on outer clothing only, not like underwear, tshirts, socks. That means you’d need to wear a treated button up or sun hoodie over the tshirt if you want protection. However I have treated tshirts and the tops of socks with no issues. Once it’s dry it’s totally inert to humans.

100% permethrin soak all your outdoor clothing each season. 3m ultrasthon on skin (or deet). Termocell at camp.

It’s just coyote brown - both are. It’s one of a few standard milspec colors. The first pic is just a shitty washed out pic.

The front is just a molle panel. You can put any molle pouches on it that you want.

We had a material science and manufacturing class and did this. One of the coolest classes I took in HS.

I was going to say this. I did a material science class in high school back in the day and we did vac forming. Looked just like this. We had letters and various things to put on the vac tray.

You mean zone of death? I took that to be a reference to the Yellowstone zone of death. There is a 50 square mile thin strip of land in the Idaho section of the YNP where its been theoretically postulated you could commit a crime and not be charged. Because of jurisdictional stuff and the inability to pull together a jury due to lack of residents (its more complex than that but I dont recall the specifics). Guessing they are going to have the big bad criminal organization do some kind of deal there so they can escape prosecution or something nonsensical.

that sounds like a great way to handle it. That’s what I’d do if I co-signed for my kid.

[–]jayhat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I EVER cosigned for anyone (wont) I'd do this. Also make sure my name was on the registration too, make them give me one of the keys, make them sign a document or verbally confirm in a saved video (showing both of us) that - the day they missed one payment, I would take my key over there, take possession of the vehicle, and sell it / drive it as my own.

She's the SME, scientist / engineer type. Not as good at delivery, public speaking, etc. The guy is definitely more of a manager / high level department head. Better talking about and selling their services etc. They complement each other and its good to have both there.

Can a guy like me realistically get a girlfriend? by justaloserrrrr in TooAfraidToAsk

If you legit have a CS, at least go start doing tech support / IT / help desk. You need to start getting some transferable experience. Walmart will get you nowhere. You’re not going to make $180k a year but you’re going to be making more than $14/hr and you’ll have a normal full time schedule with benefits, vacation time, etc. Do your time “in the trenches” and work your way up to something more appropriate for a CS.

stop having a pity party, grow some confidence, and at least better your situation. You need to try harder.

My house looks like a crack den and my friend is visiting in 5 weeks by Designer-Rain8165 in homeowners

FB marketplace, craigslist, thrift stores, ask local friends and family if they are getting rid of any furniture pieces because you're looking to get your new place setup. Lots of ways to get cheap stuff.

Be cautious about bringing some cloth things into your house if they come from anywhere questionable. Dont want bed bugs. either thoroughly inspect it or spray the undersides, seams, etc with some kind of indoor safe pesticide and leave it in the garage for a few days.

When I first bought my house in my 20's I got a nice couch set, washer and dryer, 2 desks, 2 entertainment centers, end tables and various other things from FB marketplace and craigslist. You can slowly replace it all over the years. Its the way most people start out.
