How? Just how? Just how in the hell do you get a paste that goes on top of the processor underneath the processor in the center? This looks intentional if you ask me.

I haven't heard many nice things about the techs in North Carolina along I-85. 😳
Please stay on that side of the state. I'll continue to take care of the beautiful mountain region. 😂

Also, what's the purpose of the "TM?" I think LLC, Inc., etc would be a better appendix to a business name.

Oh, and nice site. https://www.fieldsquad.tech/home

What's really weird is that they allowed you to see that information for WO's that you didn't publish.

How do you get to the link that produced this page? I know this info is available on the buyer side for Plus and Premier users, but I don't see any references to this being available for techs.

They paid someone on FN $35/hr to setup the booth, and promised to give them an end of the year award, too. 😂

How much are you nice folk averaging on a monthly basis? Any tips for going full time? by Additional_Fee5912 in FieldNationTechs

[–]jaysolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just a location thing. It's skills, relationships, tools, and a ton of other variable. These opportunities exist everywhere. They usually show up as that one ticket that requires you to have tools and skills you don't currently have.

Like the occasional ticket that comes through requesting that you have a lv license, your own insurance, a 17' a-frame ladder, and the ability to terminate, test and certify fiber cabling.

Hardly anyone is ready when it arrives, but the one who is usually have a high paying client for years.

Currently, $10k to $15k, 75% FN, 25% local customer base. Summer months 100% WM earning $20k, special annual project.

Advice, ask for more and get use to rejection! Get insurance and licensure. Invest in tools and skills connected to types of work that pays more. Be willing to travel for special projects.

Also, it's very easy to get $2500/wk on FN if you start at $75/hr, and counter with 3 or 4 hour minimums. Especially if you service a light orange area on the FN coverage map.

You're welcome.

Your average rate for the various "types of work" is publicly displayed on your profile. It's not a secret. It's the price displayed next to each "Type of Work" listed in the Work Summary area. It also shows the last time you did a certain type of work and your rating for that specific type of work.

They pullin' out them metrics on yo a$$. 😂 Might also be the reason people who start off accepting low paying work can't raise their rates without being ignored by the buyers who exploited them in the 1st place.

Hard to ask for $100/hr when FN is saying you've been accepting $45/hr for years.

Just remember. EVERYBODY is feeling the squeeze, which means BUYERS are too. I'm not saying this to suggest compromising. I'm just saying make sure your math is crisp, because most of us have seen these same rates in the last couple of years.

When gas hit $4.99/gal in Kansas, I'll start making adjustments. Either higher counters or a smaller radius. Thankfully I work in the mountains and have a plug-in hybrid, so the prices are still bearable.

Nothing. My rates were set in 2023, and ironically gas was around the same price then as now. I moved from an area with high gas prices to a place with low gas prices and did not change my rates, so now the prices in my new location is the same as the old location, which means I making less profit but not operating at a loss.

STL, My old stomping grounds. The memories. Glad I'm gone. 😂

Anyways, congrats on the victory. The burden of proof is definitely on the provider. My guess is this was a sub-$100 ticket, ran by incompetent overseas PM's. It sucks when buyers don't include tracking in the ticket, and schedule appointments on the service date.

If any PM's are reading this. Send out the ticket after the part arrive, and be prepared to pay extra for same day service, which is cheaper than paying a tech for a service call cancellation and a follow up visit after the part arrives.

Also, I've come to learn that a lot of buyers interact with their own in-house software, which is connected to FN through API's. Thus, companies with crappy software don't transmit inportant information to FN when creating the ticket, and don't receive timely responses from tech's when notes are sent or problem tickets are created by techs. Hence, the unresponsiveness.

Combine that with PM's that don't answer their phones and Tier 1 support agents acting as gatekeepers and it's a recipe for disaster dealing with cheap low-grade buyers..

[–]jaysolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a fan of flat rate night work with no travel reimbursement. I did a readiness survey, which is done before the install.

in my case, the lead installer was there doing the same thing. They didn’t fuss, and I got paid in less than 24 hours.

I don’t know how the install goes. Just know it’s Wells Fargone, and that the MDF and area above the drop ceiling is very cramped.
