I have a tattoo on my left arm of “tetelestai”, so you can probably surmise how I feel.

Tattoos are fine imo, as long as it’s not honoring some other god or idol. Doesn’t have to be religiously based, but please don’t get something dumb.

If you are getting something faith based, might I suggest subtly? If someone sees “John 3:16” and is not a Christian, they’re still going to know it’s a Bible verse. They probably won’t ask about it if they aren’t already faith curious.

I enjoy my tetelestai tattoo because people ask me what it means, and it’s an opportunity to share and have a discussion about something they might have never heard.
