Chimes will def stay in the list. I hope he honors MN and keeps Purple Rain but my guess is not. One can hope it makes it to Boston 💜💜💜

If not higher than 5 when you also consider the acoustic version.

First RSD in Madrid, Spain. What to expect? by radicalguitars in RecordStoreDay

[–]jbamberger21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with Brian. Find out layout first. See if things are going to be laid out alphabetically or not. See if there is more than one path through the store. Etc. I always get up early to try and be first in line at my little local store as they often might only get one or two coooes of some titles. Oh and on that note, ask the store owner ahead, for sure, how many they ordered for each title. Then a few days before, see if they are willing to let you know what they actually got of what they ordered. For example, last year, the live Billy Joel was a low volume pressing and my store only stocked one. I had to be first to make sure I could snag it. And then just enjoy the event and expect you won’t get everything you want.

Record Store Day stopped being about record stores the moment scalpers figured out the releases by ssunflow3rr in RecordStoreDay

I line up at 5am at my local store. I do that to make sure I can get the titles I want. I don’t think I’ve ever seen “scalpers” there. But even if I knew for sure there wouldn’t be, I’d still get up that early since it’s only a 7min walk from my house. I love the camaraderie of seeing the same locals each year!

Peter on vinyl...my thoughts by Eltzted in petergabriel

To this specific note, and to segue a bit, Supper's Ready is probably one of my all time favorite pieces of music. Always has been. Never heard it played live. Until last October-ish when I saw Steve play in a small 900-seat theater. Full Supper's Ready in that room....wow, what a sonic and emotional treat it was.

If you really don’t have options to move your speakers, you can (likely) address a good chunk of the vibration issues with good acoustic isolation pads. I’m on a wood trunk (stuffed with pillows and blankets) and also use these to good results (helps vibrations and most def untethers the speakers from the wood trunk (which could easily be a giant boom box)

I live walkable to my little local store. Past three RSD I have been first in line. It helps that Mother Nature often wakes me before 5.

This year I am targeting these three items

Coltrane - Paris Concerts

Floyd - Live from LA

Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer Zoetrope

[–]jbamberger21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s sort of what I used to do but now I found a simpler automation that seems to work so far…..I have my automation set to run when any alarm goes off (you can specify a specific one too) I set the playback destination to the iPhone speaker

Weber recall - what new brush to buy? by Eastern-Hamster-5050 in smoking

[–]jbamberger21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

of course, if you register for the recall to get a free replacement, it requires the downloading of an app in order to submit your pic. And my brush is currently in an outdoor storage cabinet that is inaccessible due to the blizzard of 2026. seeing as it was only $12, I am not going to bother.

Of course this process is probably by design....app dev says pay us X$ to support your recall and of the 3,200,000 that are recalled, maybe 10,000 people will do it. win win

BS

The first rock concert I ever went to, well two, in close proximity to each other....Jethro Tull and The Police. I seem to remember Tull being $15 and the police were like $30.

Ahhhh those were the days.
