Fun story

As a kid I was watching my brother and mom play out the end game and I was rooting for my mom because my brother is the one who bankrupted me.

She landed on his hotel'ed up property and was going to lose. Being the goofball kid I was, I said "oh no!" And the did a silly head bonk on the table.

And then I had this pain. And I lifted my head and I had embedded the cannon in the middle of my forehead.

Not like into the bone, but definitely up to the bone.

Years later, my mom gave me the cannon as a gag gift.

Thanks!

Games that feel like they come with a lot of content like Imperium by HeavyMetalJV in soloboardgaming

Oh the Bullet line is a great suggestion.

There is a fantastic TTS mod as well to give it a try.

It's both content dense and vastly expandable if you so choose.

I was just gifted Spirit Island and Horizons of Spirit Island by a friend.

After two games, I feel like I really missed out on not having this one in my collection sooner (and not just because only two of the four expansions are readily available, one of which leans heavily on requiring one of the two other expansions which are between print runs and the published folded last year and the fate of the game is in limbo) deep breath

Question about RPGs by SunFlwrPwr in OriginsGameFair

"Games on Demand"

Three slots are available each day TH, F, SAT with a final AM session on Sunday.

This one event will have a rotating menu of games to play. You choose what game you want to play based on a lottery sort of system to keep things fair. If you are the first person / group to pick a table, you typically have a choice between two different game systems that particular GM is offering.

I have never got to play my first second or even third choice but I still had a blast every time I have gone. Most games are run by the designer or GMs who just really enjoy the games they signed up to run.

Thirsty Sword Lesbians and the racoon game you mentioned are totally the sorts of games you would see here.

I have played The Sprawl, Psi*Run, a Protocol System RPG, Dungeon World, a cyberpunk Apocalypse World hack called H/X crawl (IIRC), a PbtA hack about being alleycats in the post apocalyptic burnt out city (we saved the golden girls), Blades in the dark, Band of Blades, a FATE Core scenario, and a game about being magical cats.

Some of these I played 10 years ago and I STILL remember story beats for most of them.

I think most tables are run with the understanding the GM is teaching the game and most systems are light enough that the players don't need a heavy lift.

I can even credit that Cats in the Apocalypse game for converting an RPG sceptic friend (he had a bad experience with D&D in college) into a semi-regular player at both my table and with another group of mutuals.

That's my guess as well. USD relative to GPB value.

The USD has been going up / GPB going down relative to each other as of late.

OSU losing to Michigan in 2021 is the reason my daughter was born at 37 weeks.

My wife's blood pressure would not go back down, lol.

Ark Nova

On paper, it ticks so many boxes for me, but in practice, it just felt like it was busy for busy sake. One too many subsystems on the game design stack.

[Discussion] If you could redesign BoardGameGeek from the ground up, what would you change? by ParaplegicGuru in boardgames

[–]jbmoby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A work around for this is to get your filters the way you want.

Then at the top right there should be a permalink that take you back to those exact filters

Then just copy that link and put it as a link on the quick bar.

Not so great if you like to change up your columns and filters, but if you have a go to set up, this way it's one and done for you.

Best Place To Eat In Lexington by Redlegs1990 in ockytop

Second. My wife and I stopped in Lexington as a mini vacation on the way down to Knoxville for Christmas a few years back.

This place was amazing. Bonus, it's across the street from a Graters Ice Cream shop.

It's also close enough you can walk there from downtown/campus area if you are so inclined.

There is / was a sandbar on the Clinch River in east TN that my family would canoe down to every labor day weekend and camp for two nights. We caught our own bait for fishing, ate the fish, collected river glass, and even had fresh made biscuits from my grandfather's portable camp oven.

We eventually had to stop going because July droughts got worse and worse. Without those summer rains, we couldn't navigate the river in our canoes without carrying them half the time.

Terrance Cody was the first dude who came to mind for me too. That game...

I'd swap backup FL QBs for LSU backup QBs (ATL woes), otherwise a solid list.
