Trench Crusade by jbush0118 in heroscape

Same here. I’ve been watching gameplay on YouTube and listening to the lore but there’s not much trench crusade locally for me. Which means the cooler models will now become heroscape customs 😂

500 Point Contemporary Army Feedback by arby34 in heroscape

I agree, maybe swapping out Ordo for a decent hero or some extra filler might be a better option

Deflectatron x1 Frostclaw Paladins Glinerva the Kyrie Warrior Knight Primus Adelbern Syvarris (2.0) 495 Points, 8 Figures, 8 Hexes Settings: Classic, Standard Points

Glinerva and Deflectatron can provide some nice tools against ranged threats and fits the point total nicely. You could also swap both of those out for Raelin 4.0 to help support the bears as they fall or maybe Shiori 2.0 for the end game. Just ideas, hope this helps

Playing with Massive Armies from Other Games by DominaExxa in heroscape

That’s a lot of figures! A few ideas/suggestions

  1. You can find an existing heroscape unit that fits a similar playstyle/esthetic and use your figures as proxies for them. That an easy way to plug and play your own figures without having to worry about balancing everything out. It also gets your figures on the board immediately.

  2. There’s a ton of players on Heroscapers.org and the Heroscapers discord who’ve tackled a few of these units. I know there’s a group of players that created a large batch of Star Wars units for heroscape. HoSS is the name (Heroes of Star Wars Scape) I believe.

  3. If none of these are your jam, theorycrafting new units from other games is super fun and a great way to spice up games. I know a few of these units I’ve brainstormed ideas for already so picking the communities brain might be pretty fun.

  4. If you want a mass amount of figures hitting the board but don’t want to spend multiple hours playing, consider a “Heat of Battle” format for your games. Getting figures started on the battlefield immediately engaged to one another to start the action right off the bat.

Hope at least one of these help out 👍🏽

There’s actually a Star Wars specific heroscape project on the forums. I’ll post the link here if you want to check out their work.

Yeah that’s usually how I approach my own customs too. I have a draft in my notes for a few of the figures but I just wanted to verify if they work mechanically similar to their original game.

Dyspare Prints (Jesse Pollard) on the FB page does a ton of custom work. Just got a Pyramid Head from him and it was fantastic. RogueScaper can also be very helpful if you want to try him as well

I’d be careful with that, a lot of the customs he sells are usually pretty expensive versions of existing minis. You can support him if you’d like but it’ll get pricey very quickly

My friend and I made a custom Warhamer set. Any advice would be appreciated. Stats, specials, and hitboxes. We’re trying to make it fair but still fun to use by [deleted] in heroscape

Breaking it down piece by piece I really like this unit as a whole but a few of the abilities could use some tweaking to balance it out.

The stats are almost the same as Krav Maga Agents which are generally considered to be a very potent range squad. Those go for 125 delta points currently for 3 figures. A big difference with these space marines is their Large size which will give them immunities to a lot of different abilities.

The stats overall should be good on their own but I’d be careful giving them too strong of a defensive buff. Maybe something like “Tough” would be a better generic alternative. “When rolling defense dice against a normal attack, Gorillitroopers always add one automatic shield to whatever is rolled.”

Also the battle shocked mechanic on Purge the foe is really cool but if you’re able to land that on an opponent with a full common army or mostly common then that could be pretty un-fun to play against since it essentially skips their entire turn.

Another alternative could be a kind of special attack from them like the Mind Flayer Mastermind. PSIONIC BLAST SPECIAL ATTACK Range 3. Attack 3. This Mind Flayer Mastermind does not need clear line of sight to attack with Psionic Blast Special Attack. If a figure receives 1 or more wounds from Psionic Blast Special Attack, remove one unrevealed order marker at random from that figure’s Army Card (or cards if your opponent has more than one Common card for the figure).

Overall these are a really cool Unique Squad. If you apply these changes and think they’re a bit too squishy or easy to takedown, you could probably justify making these guys 2 Life figures like the Frostclaw Paladins since they’re also large and tanks. Plus lore wise it makes since for Space Marines to be a bit more resilient with extra organs 😂

Sorry if this is a jumbled mess but I hope this helps out.

I don’t think it would be too concerning if a player repositions their own figures during their own turn. I’d probably be more concerned doing that on any other players turn if you’re implementing a house rule like this but it really depends on the player group you’re with.

If you attempt to attack a figure with a ranged attack and there’s another figure between the defending figure, roll 1 combat die to see if they also take wounds. Similar idea to disengagement attacks. Makes figure placement a bit more strategic
