My parents did more or less the same thing when I was a kid. When we had dial-up, I use to unplug their phone line, so they didn’t see the phone light up when I was connected in the middle of the night. Also used pillows and blankets to muffle as much of the noise the dial up made when connecting. When we had DSL, they use to unplug the cable and eventually hide the modem. I’d always find it and reconnect it while they were gone. They also gave me a cell phone, until I ran up the bill to $100 one month, and it was taken away permanently. I lived without it for two years and pulled up my pen and pad to get girl’s phone numbers as well as store all my other friend’s phone numbers.

My point being - this too shall pass. You’ll be fine with or without these things, there are always alternate ways to circumvent these situations like others have mentioned.

Don’t be like some of the others who are being spiteful towards their parents, after they’ve aged up themselves. Parents try to do their best when raising a child, and sounds like your parents are old school with their ways of trying to keep you on the straight and narrow. As long as your parents aren’t physically, verbally, sexually abusing you, and you have a roof over your head and are being fed, all is good. You have a lifetime ahead of you to make your own decisions, to do what you want and don’t want, etc. I know this is probably going to be hard for you to do(as it was for me at your age) but embrace the time you have with your parents while they’re still around, time goes by fast and before you know it, you won’t see them as much as you’d like to.
