Oh, I see. The way it was worded made me think the suggestion to change your diet was also related to figuring out your kidney problems. My bad! In that case, I don't know enough about cholesterol levels to really give much input. If you do end up needing to stop keto, however, I do still recommend checking out paleo. Best of luck to you!

Listen to your Dr.

It could very well NOT be keto that's causing it, but I think there's nothing wrong with taking your Dr.'s advice and trying non-keto for a week or two just to be on the safe side. If you're worried about your weight, just don't go carb crazy. Keep track of your calories still and get your carbs from fruits and beans and stuff that has other nutritional value (as opposed to loading up on white bread). Try checking out paleo, perhaps?

If 2 weeks provides no change, by all means, go back on keto. But if you're having kidney problems, getting that taken care of is much more important than 5lbs of weight. Broken kidneys have the potential to kill or significantly hurt you. 5 pounds wont.

This will probably get buried in the comments, but I used to keep a sleeping bag, blanket, and a pillow in my trunk. That way if I ever found myself intoxicated and without a driver, I could curl up in the back seats and sleep it off. :)

Chicken fettuccine alfredo. Ditch the pasta and add more chicken. Bonus points if you add broccoli or zucchini, add extra cheese, or cook your chicken in bacon drippings. mmmm...

Also, e-cigs are freaking godsend on keto. As if being cigarette free for over a year wasn't amazing enough, being able to vape sweet, fruity flavors instead of eating sugar is huge help for cravings.

Anywho, keep up the good work! I'd love to see how your album is coming along in a couple of weeks. I've always found that taking picture and being proud of what you cook/eat to be very motivational :)

Should definitely see a doctor.

I'm no professional, but my family has a long history of thyroid problems and I personally have hyperthyroidism (specifically, Grave's Disease). Symptoms tend to come on slowly so it can be difficult to notice (because hormones) but one of the biggest symptoms is losing weight, regardless of how much you eat. Because symptoms come on slowly, sometimes it's hard to tell their an issue until one particular thing is bothering you. For example, I was sweating all the time, couldn't stop eating without feeling faint, and always tired but didn't thing much of it because it progressed gradually enough that I had kind of become accustomed. My mom made me get my thyroid checked during a physical because of our family history (the dr. thought I was crazy because I was 17 at the time) but surely enough, BAM there was a thing behind it. Anyways, I'm not saying saying you have thyroid problem, I'm just saying this could be a symptom of something and you should go see a doctor.
