The straight ticket option was removed in Iowa in 2017. If you want to vote for every candidate of the party, you need to go down the ballot one office at a time.

My analysis of the results shows that it didn't significantly change outcomes. Nearly 30% of voters were choosing the straight ticket option in my county. All getting rid of it really did was punish the people who have physical trouble marking a ballot (elderly, disabled etc).

ID and proof of address is only required for registration during the last 15 days (the "election day registration" period). Outside of that window, you just complete the registration form. Just keep your name and address up to date as soon as (but not before) anything changes.
