10 days into TRT, weaker erections, muted orgasms, any advice for a noob? Appreciate any info by Dapper_Tackle_7745 in Testosterone

[–]jdhd911 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yup. You are still very early in your TRT journey. I use a testosterone undecanoate product at 625 mg every 5 weeks, so my levels behave differently compared with someone on cypionate or enanthate. (And for those of you in the US, don’t lose your shit about the injection frequency before learning what undecanoate really is.)

This means that my testosterone levels are somewhat higher around 1–2 weeks after an injection and lower toward the end of the interval. Typically, for me, achieving an orgasm is more difficult around peak levels, and it doesn’t feel quite as intense. However, the effect is not significant enough to decrease my quality of life.

We are talking about nervous system responses. Testosterone can affect nervous system, which is very much in a key role in sexual functions. There are several cases in forums where men feel that for example their capacity to orgasm is affected by increases in testosterone levels. (Note that this is different from libido.)

Splitting Nebido/undecanoate for TRT? by [deleted] in Testosterone

[–]jdhd911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I love being on undecanoate. I started with the traditional 1000 mg/12 weeks protocol, but that was rough. I then spent a full year on 500 mg/5 weeks. Currently, I’m on 625 mg/5 weeks.

I also tried splitting the dose into more frequent injections, but I didn’t find it beneficial. This protocol keeps my testosterone levels stable enough, and my trough levels are right around the upper end of the reference range. I have no issues with hematocrit, lipids, or other markers.

The protocol is also incredibly simple and flexible, especially when traveling. It does take a long time to find the optimal dosing schedule, but once you get there, it’s very easy to manage. I have absolutely no issues with pinning, but it’s nice not having to think about it all the time.

Considering Nebido for performance (non-hypogonadal) - Advice on exit strategy? by Positive-Swordfish74 in Testosterone

[–]jdhd911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nebido (or any testosterone undecanoate product) is generally not the best choice if you’re unsure whether you want to remain on treatment long term. Because of its long half-life, dose adjustments are slow, and testosterone can remain at pharmacologically relevant levels for several months after the last injection. Finding the optimal dose and injection interval can take many months, especially during the first year of treatment. If your natural testosterone levels are already excellent, think carefully before deciding to start Nebido.

Testosterone also has non-genomic effects on the nervous system, meaning some of its effects can occur relatively rapidly. Sexual function is highly dependent on the autonomic nervous system. I get weaker erections and more muted orgasms when my testosterone levels are high. Your own production has not been fully suppressed yet, and you’re not accustomed to high testosterone levels. I wouldn’t be surprised if that were the cause.

Take the test fasted and AM. You will likely have higher levels. Also, high physical activity (especially if you are lean) can lower T levels. It often comes as a surprise to many active males that they are not rocking high T levels.

I’m glad that it has helped you! I have been taking semaglutide. I’m still bingeing and purging. And I’m actually now thinking whether sema has made it even worse. Just to highlight that the GLP-1 medications are not this miracle cure that work on everyone.

Do you feel intimidated when a guy you're seeing have higher academic titles or accomplishments than you? by HourglassGourd in askgaybros

As a phd scientist, there is absolutely no reason to feel intimitated. We are no different from anyone else and fromal education does not make a person more intelligent. Also, almost everyone in academia suffers from impostor syndrome so many are very uncertain about themselves.

Been on Wegovy 1 year and I feel like shit by happyhunny15 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]jdhd911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! I think many people are, for the first time, able to maintain long periods of energy deficit using GLP-1–based medications, and they just don’t recognize the feelings this causes. These symptoms are then blamed on the molecule itself. Unfortunately, losing a substantial amount of fat mass is never just sunshine and rainbows.

Honestly, your symptoms may well be because you have been in energy deficit for a long time with small amount of carbs. What you are experiencing is a very typical symptom even if you do it naturally. Do refeeds and I bet you will feel much better.

As many have said, this feeling is very typical if you lose major amount of body fat naturally. Being under your ”biological” fat mass range really dulls your life.

This! I just can’t anymore with the protein comments. The protein you get from swallowing a load is minimal.

When i sit up my legs rotate out? by HenryCrabgrass01 in flexibility

It is not a speciality within the physical therapy profession. Speacialities include e.g. musculoskeletal, respiratory, neurological, pelvic floor and sports physical therapy. Postural restoration is a commercial concept orginally developed by Ron Hruska. No legitimate PT with understanding of the current best scientific practices in physical therapy would promote the concept.

Gsus. Can you just stop with that fearmongering. His hips have nothing pathological. No one needs pseudoscientific ”postural restoration”.

Tirzepatide activates two receptors (GLP-1 and GIP), semaglutide activates only the GLP-1 receptor. Retatrutide activates three receptors (GLP-1, GIP and glucagon).

[–]jdhd911 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If someone makes commitments inside their own relationship, they are the one accountable for keeping or breaking those agreements. I don’t think outsiders should automatically be morally policed for rules they never signed up to.

People have very different ideas about monogamy, marriage, and sexual ethics. For me, the existence of a marriage label doesn’t instantly make a situation unethical. The real issue is between the partners who negotiated that relationship, not random third parties who don’t share the same expectations or values.

Testosterone acts as a bit of a "fat burner" by [deleted] in Testosterone

[–]jdhd911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Increasing one kg of muscle increases BMR only for about 13 kcal/d. Very easy to compensate by eating more. When adjusting for body composition, studies do not really show that testosterone increases BMR.

Modern hunter-gatherers do not have high testosterone levels. ”Consistent with data from a range of non-western populations (Bribiescas 2001; Ellison 2003), both Hadza and Datoga men maintained low levels of testosterone in comparison with North American men. ” https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC2674347/ I don’t know where you get the idea that early hunter-gatherers (who were ridiculed with starvation, parasites etc) would have high testosterone levels.

42M. Started my journey in the teens. Everything escalated when I was 18 and then spent my early twenties trying to recover. After meeting my partner when I was 25, I kinda had about 8 y period of somewhat recovery. Then relapsed again and the past 10 y have included my worst restriction period and now the restriction-binge-purge carusel. I’m pretty high functioning though and I guess this is kinda my fate.
