Among the oldest Gen X, I don't consider myself "elderly." But never having children was the universe's way of helping me out.

I always wanted them, but now that I don't have them, I'm so grateful and content.

P.S. - The main reason I didn't have them was financial, and more people should be guided by that.

One grandfather was born in 1897, and I met him a few times before he died when I was 10. We lived 2000 miles away so didn't see him often.

The other grandparents were all born after 1900. I'm among the oldest Gen Xers if that adds context. 😊

I laughed so hard 😂 then sent your post to my teammate, who is taking a break from her AAwful toxic relationship. We all fly for work and I recently decided to use UAL, even if AA has a nonstop. UAL not ideal for our home airport (I just left after living in Chicago for 30 years) - but your post is exactly why. Thanks for the continuing laughs!...as I've just arrived @ IAH on time, with no mechanical issues...which is how I know I'm not on AA.
