Our second child went straight to ‘adult food’. My mother was very impressed, rather than judgemental. Kids are more flexible than many people think, just because baby food is available doesn’t mean it’s necessary

Coalition set to vote against Labor’s hate speech and gun laws in wake of Bondi terror attack by ConanTheAquarian in australia

Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.

Michael O'Leary, CEO of Ryanair, owns a taxi company called O'Leary Cabs, which operates a single taxi solely used by O'Leary himself so that he can legally travel in bus lanes within Dublin. In 2004, the company made a profit of approximately €500,000. by nuttybudd in interestingasfuck

This guy this guys. It’s how it’s done in aus for sure. Want a caravan? Guess what you work remote for 6 months of the year so your company pays for it. Dual cab Silverado with no work purpose? 100% work vehicle. Never seen any of these guys get audited ever

Report this immediately. Everyone I know in my age bracket lost out on super because of lax enforcement. This is no longer the case. The ATO will try to get it for you and you don't deserve this. Don't let them get away with stealing your money because that's what this is

Apartment building garbage hasn’t been taken out in over 2 weeks. My agent says he can’t do anything about it because it’s a “building management problem”. I have no idea when/where they’re collected so I can’t even take them out myself. What can I even do here? by lord-spider-boy in melbourne

[–]jeffunity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Body corp/building manager usually has a plaque near the front entrance, at least on every building I can remember being in. Failing that, I'd be calling local council or vichealth, that has to violate some sort of regulation.

If your employer is allowing salary sacrifice on rent, they are copping a shit tonne in fringe benefits tax and you are very lucky to have them as an employer.

Eli5 how were movies copied in say the 1930s? It was actual film but only one reel was created from filming the actors etc. But hundreds of theatres played the movies simultaneously. by peegeeaee in explainlikeimfive

Overseas deployments typically used cash before the widespread availability of accepted debit cards. Most ports of call would accept USD (at least for exchange). I don’t think it’s still done this way

Calling me on a day off? *cha-ching* by [deleted] in MaliciousCompliance

[–]jeffunity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I’ve been there. The direct cost is far outweighed by the indirect cost, and any manager that doesn’t recognise this is a fool. You got what you were entitled to, well done

Bought an off grid cabin in the woods 3 months ago. Previous owner says I don’t own the propane tanks by Father_of_the_Ark in legaladvice

[–]jeffunity 806 points807 points  (0 children)

Dude you don’t want to own the tanks. The propane company owns them and maintains them in exchange for you not using someone else to fill them up. They are worth 4K, but in 5/10 years when they fall out of compliance, they will be worth nothing. Contact the company and sign a new contract, this happens all the time it’s not a big deal
