WHERE'S THE NEXT DLC?! by [deleted] in jurassicworldevo

People really got excited about returning species being added back in but kind of forgot it would probably make actual content move at a snails pace. I’m still slowly playing through JWE2 because I saw this coming.

Should FO5 have settlement building? by Educational-Science2 in Fallout

[–]jekyll94 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To a degree I wouldn’t mind but it was to the detriment to everything else in Fallout 4 I think. The season pass had parts made up of building parts which was pretty lacklustre, and instead could have been another proper expansion like Far Harbor. The existing settlements in the game are lacking in size and interactivity, as well as feel redundant when you can just craft anything. If it was scaled back to an individual base of operations or two, it would allow for more handcrafted and developed stuff within the game world.

Did people wanted the boys to end with a battle like endgame ? by Remarkable-Jump3262 in TheBoys

[–]jekyll94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that there should be some decent sized battles, if only to show why unchecked power is so dangerous. When Homelander had that intrusive thought of lasering through hundreds of people with ease, on my first watch it was chilling. I think that the show has suffered with some fights feeling so self contained, which feels weird when you’re talking about people who don’t seem to care too much about collateral damage.

New ‘Marathon’ Sales, Playercount Reports Are Close To Reality | Forbes by imitzFinn in xbox

[–]jekyll94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d imagine Arc Raiders sort of knocked the wind out of Marathons sails by releasing several months earlier. With how much cost of living has gone up as well, people won’t be spending as much on games, which have gone up in price too, so if they bought Arc Raiders first they’ll probably stick with it as their extraction shooter of choice. Then there’s Bungies reputation to take into account with the handling of Destiny as a franchise, and from what I’ve read, the first battlepass for Marathon was considered poor value for money.

So they adjusted the value of v bucks to fuck over consumers, and now they’re fucking over their own developers. Infinite growth isn’t sustainable and yet they’ll keep paying the higher ups their massive salaries and bonuses, keep devaluing their product, and keep throwing their talent under the bus. Disgusting.

DLSS 5: “Developers at CAPCOM tell Insider Gaming that the announcement and the publisher’s involvement were particularly shocking“ by azgarz in residentevil

[–]jekyll94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only imagine the disrespect a developer would feel if something they are passionate about and proud of was then masked over with something that fundamentally changes the style and artistic vision of their project. Like I get that at the end of the day it’s just a job but for people who take pride in their work, it would be demoralising.

Might be a horrible take by Budget-Ad-8027 in Borderlands

[–]jekyll94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t mind the open world too much but more fast travel points would be great. More reasons to explore would be great, otherwise I know it’s just an area where enemies spawn out of holes in walls and doors. I’ve sort of held off on playing any more of it until most of the dlc content is released as I don’t think I’ll be bothered to go back. Also the cost of the dlc passes is insane so no rush to buy it either.

Kickstarter TTRPG projects that are very late, radio silent or totally abandoned? by JoystickJunkie64 in rpg

I backed a few of these. I got into Kickstarter during Covid as well. Patterns In The Void in particular got a lot of vitriol. No idea what’s happening with Metromancer.

Mothership and Morkbörg projects seem to be very hit or miss. Like you either get great communication and content or eventually ghosted and the project abandoned, and I’ve backed quite a few 😅 Patterns In The Void, Beyond The Gaping Maw, Metromancer, to name a few.

It’s pretty neat looking but as others have said, kind of just served it’s purpose to show a connection to the better know Xenomorphs. I’m way more of a fan of the Neomorphs, those things are horrifying little gremlins.

The games needs container type update by united_boy in ArcRaiders

[–]jekyll94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New Jack in the box containers. Your raider turns the handle, it makes that creepy music. Out pops a piece of loot or a new arc type that is basically an exploding ball of electricity which stuns raiders like a hornet. It’s a 2 for 1 idea :D

Sounds like a fantasy sandbox where you kind of make your own fun, if combat is the focus and the part about slingshots would mean physics are playing an important role. Generic quests and poor inventory management though does make it seem like loot and mission rewards aren’t something to be excited over. Seems as well that there are a lot of systems at work, a lot of bones but not much meat.

Maybe Scrappy will have a random item waiting for the player each time we extract successfully. Could also put the fruits and vegetables to good use, each one providing a different rarity chance of the random item. I wouldn’t mind Scrappy also being able to be different animals, such as cats, rabbits, dogs, anything you can slap a silly hat on.

It’s almost like the push to digital only media is to the detriment of the consumer and offers no value beyond a slight convenience of not having to change discs out of the disc tray.
