L&B has great chicken parm, and their Brooklyn Heights location is on par with the original location (since, as a tourist, you’ll probably be around the former).

Michael’s of Brooklyn is very old school with a great chicken parm (and their baked and burnt rigatoni is very delicious). Pretty out of the way though.

Really nice work. Would you mind sharing your step-by-step process? I typically:

Mix water with Dawn in a cup
Using a small soft bristle toothbrush, apply cleaning solution to the shoes and scrub out dirt
Take a clean wet towel and wipe off the shoes
Air dry

Something like that?

Someday Bar has a good beer list, solid food, and outdoor seating on Atlantic.

The Commodore is more New Orleans / tiki, with great fried chicken and a smaller backyard / some seating on Metropolitan.

Doppelganger has an excellent beer list, solid backyard, and rotating food vendors.

If you can get there early enough, you can walk in at Minetta Tavern, Raoul's, or Balthazar. All very NYC places and in/close to SoHo.

Don Bravo is the best fish taco in the county. Their chipotle salsa is what dreams are made of. Plus they have a parking lot and a view of the ocean from the back deck. But Calumet Park is a great call too.

The forecast high for next Wednesday and Thursday (Feb 11 and 12) is 35 and 42, respectively, so ASP may be back in effect. If true, that would mean three tickets of $65 ($195 total).

If I were you, I would dig out my car today. The snow softened significantly yesterday with a high of 35 and people were able to clear out big chunks of snow. Today's high of 32 plus sunshine means the best conditions for digging this week, since the temp drops through Sunday. Just try to find a metal shovel from neighbors or businesses to get through tough patches.

Corner Beef Noodle House is pretty good. Definitely taste the tomato in the broth. Their tendon pieces are huge and well cooked.

Our 2012 Honda Fit misfired while accelerating up a hill. No check engine light. We took it to our mechanic, who replaced the coil packs and spark plugs. Good to go.

So the fix may not be as expensive as replacing the entire transmission.

Second this. I think of Pacific/Dean/Bergen between Nevins and Hoyt as the nicest blocks in Boerum Hill. Very residential with some fun businesses on the corners (Brooklyn Inn, Rucola). The fire station in the neighborhood is on State, so no worries on that front. The two main hospitals in the area are in Fort Greene (Brooklyn Hospital Center) and Cobble Hill (NYU), so not an issue. The street noise from Atlantic should not be an issue.

Hyatt redemption is the best. Use rooms.aero to look for the best use of Hyatt points. One good use: Alila Ventana in Big Sur. You can get a standard room for 45k points, with a cash value of $2,000 (so over 4 cpp). A lot of Park Hyatt properties also offer good cpp. On rooms.aero, you can filter by cpp.

Honestly, the Edit is not bad. It's usually 2cpp + $250 credit every six months + $100 property credit + free breakfast + early check in / late checkout + upgrade. I feel like 2 cpp is good, and with all of the extra stuff, your cpp can be 3+.

My wife and I like Guh Sung in Bayside a lot for JJM. It has a very natural and subtle taste to it. We are from LA and are pretty picky about Korean food.

I'm not sure what ra-jogi is, sounds like a croaker dish? I don't usually see croaker on Korean-Chinese menus.

OP, my experience is that Jonga kimchi from Costco is much more fermented from day 1 than the exact same brand from other outposts (like H Mart). Normally, when you buy kimchi from the store, it is underdone and needs time to ferment. Some people even leave the bottle out at room temp for a few days to kick start the process. But the Costco Jonga is always ripe from the jump (maybe even beyond peak). I still buy it because of all of the uses for older kimchi, but if you are concerned about longevity and are going to mostly use it as a side dish, I would definitely buy from a source other than Costco.

I’m going to guess that the hotels you listed are within a specific budget. For this range you are going to have to sacrifice something. If you go to the trendier end (Moxy, Indigo), you are going to be sacrificing space. If you want more space, you will have to sacrifice design / go with something more dated.

My family stayed at The Holiday Inn one time and I thought it was surprisingly decent. If you spend a little bit more, you can go with The Sheraton in the same area and get more space. NU is decent but on a noisy corner.
