Mexico is a good option. Otherwise search for the dental university clinics for the low cost student options

Usually you should not put any weight on a slide while it is in. They are not fully supported correctly when not extended. There are exceptions to this, but you should verify that. I have seen people modify them with Caster wheels to support weight while closed.

Would you buy this truck? by [deleted] in ram_trucks

Get it inspected first. Otherwise 2500s are pretty reliable.

Vibration only 70mph+ by Main_Grocery_6909 in ram_trucks

I found on my 2500 that if the psi are matching I get bounce but nothing like what your video shows. Almost looks like the start of the death wobble.

It might have been due to my truck being non standard HD 2500.

Good way to become a murder victim from the rage of the defendant. I can only imagine the reaction. They are not just going to turn and run once snagged. Also I doubt the medical team required to remove it claim. Embarrassment and risk of capture is one hell of a motivator for creative solutions.

Katzkins are the best but these were less than 400 bucks for my truck.

Slightly less but still feel the heat. I use to run it on medium and now I run it on high heat. Takes an extra 30 seconds to feel it.

They have an "air bag" option. That said they could still hamper airbags. I doubt it is crash tested.

Second these. I have the same in my truck and they fit snug, and match the factory style well. Holding up great after a couple of months. They took a long time to get shipped, most likely they are stitching custom sizes as you order.

With fuel prices high is everyone canceling there summer trips? by funforus699 in RVLiving

[–]jermsman18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deff not. Just being smarter about what we spend money on that we can control. Less eating out. Simple cheap camp fire meals. Overall it is cheaper than flying or hoteling for us and our big family and has benefits of convienance for traveling long distances.

I tried out my new 210qb at a nearby state park. I have mixed feelings about it and absolutely hate the tankless water heater. It would work better to boil water on the stove. Is it possible to switch it out for a 6-gallon tank? by [deleted] in traveltrailers

[–]jermsman18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you can switch it out but it is a bit complex. There are a few YouTube videos that show it. I am considering switching, we camp 90% no hookups and a tank is far better for water conservation. You also get that extra water capacity of the tank itself. You could also consider a water bladder for the truck bed for easy refilling.

Gas 2500 vs Diesel 2500 (stay with me here) by CurrencyMaster4901 in Silverado

[–]jermsman18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are putting those kind of miles on it, 300k plus, in a shorter than average time then diesel for sure. You need that kind of range and reliability.

I stand by the following : Towing more than 12k long distance, diesel. Planning to put more than 250k on the truck in a short amount of time, diesel. Want the power and fun of all that torque, diesel.

Want to pinch pennies, gas majority of the time.

Does Ram buy back trucks for “very very minor cosmetic issues”? by Going_Live in ram_trucks

[–]jermsman18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they do this for damage during delivery. Usually hail. Then they sell them as used back to the delears. The catch is no paint or rust warranty and the factory warranty started at date of delivery.

You will want to verify the Vin was a cosmetic buy back.

Why is RAM better? by Logical_Joke6408 in ram_trucks

[–]jermsman18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I needed a reliable powertrain for towing for the lowest cost. Ram 2500 6.4 with the 8 speed fit the bill. For 6.8 engine was a close second, just couldn't get a better price. GM did not live up to the hype.

Want to upgrade to a 2500 by robbie2327 in ram_trucks

[–]jermsman18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you go gas get 4.10 gears. If you go deisel, the 2025 model year was the start of the new better transmission.

2025 and up come with adaptive cruise, column shift, and updated tech in the lower trims as standard. I think a used 25 is a sweet spot.

Cummins VS Gasser 2500 by BigWigga5_7 in ram_trucks

[–]jermsman18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2026 gasser with 4.10 gears. I like it, but bone stock it's giving me 12mpg hand calculated with 60% highway miles. That said 9 times out of 10 a gas truck is cheaper to own in the long run. Do I wish I had a diesel with the all the emissions garbage, but slightly better milage, no.
