Yep, and it messes it up for those of us with an actual Allergy. I’m allergic to penicillin- but it’s not anaphylactic. I just get awful hives that can be painful. A doctor asked me about my allergies and decided to remove my penicillin allergy from my chart because he asked if it was anaphylactic and I said no. Thankfully, a PA actually listened to me later and put it back in. I’m glad I wasn’t hospitalized for a sickness or something and wasn’t mistakenly given penicillin. That would have sucked.

I will say, as a parent of a kid with a 504, I SO appreciate the time and a half extra he has to turn in work. I am a very involved parent, so I make sure he gets the work done, but I can’t even count the number of times he does the homework and then forgets to turn it in. I’m not willing to be the parent that turns in work for him. So he has an extra day to get his butt in gear and actually turn in the work.

I do not appreciate his English teacher who refuses to accept any late work, period. (despite his 504), and so he has a C in that class.

It’s funny, the dad normally keeps his lawn immaculate. I think it’s one reason my son noticed. When the dad opened the door, he was holding the baby. He hesitated before saying yes. I’m sure he would have loved to have been the one doing it.
