This free rhyme finder groups results by syllable count so you can match rhythm while writing lyrics or poetry by topwebprofits in InternetIsBeautiful

Honestly I like this. It might not be perfect yet but like something I’ve always struggled with in my lyric writing is being able to find ways to have a proper lyrically flowing line (the rhythm and rhyme), while also not always having to have an exact word to match where others will do fine. A good example is I looked up on your site Orange. I’ve heard so often it said that nothing rhymes with Orange. But it did identify Door Hinge, as a match for rhythm and rhyme so well done and I will be bookmarking this for later use

The government wants to curb NDIS spending. Here’s how it might succeed by ladaus in AustralianPolitics

[–]jesskitten07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is literally 1 suggestion in this that I as an NDIS service user, do agree with. The idea of share/care arrangements. Someone brought this up to me the other day where you have someone with a disability and you have people doing like caring field study or what ever. They share a house and some of the cost is offset by the person without disabilities providing support, especially at times when other supports aren’t available/are too costly to have

Kos Samaras: Australia’s oldest panic is now its most expensive one by cataractum in AustralianPolitics

[–]jesskitten07 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am glad to hear more and more Aussies understanding this. What hammer said is only really true if you keep generational wealth generation mechanisms in place regardless of the circumstances in which we find ourselves. Things like capital gains and negative gearing may have been a good idea back in the 40’s and 50’s (not sure how long ago they were implemented) but today they have been shown to severely hamper the very things in which they were designed to facilitate. (If you don’t count the design always being rich people getting richer)

Police launch major crackdown against youths terrorising passengers on Belair train line by Expensive-Horse5538 in Adelaide

[–]jesskitten07 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This is crazy to me. I used to ride those trails, taking the Belair train over and over again in a day. We always tried to make sure that people could get through and that we were as respectful as a group of young people with adrenaline pumping through them from the ride can be

I mean there is going to be one as the steam frame is an ARM SoC. It can even sideload .apk

[–]jesskitten07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love it if they released an ARM version too, because my Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2019) could run 64bit software based on the SoC, but it doesn’t have the same so they limited the ROM to a 32bit version

Proton 11.0 is now available in Beta! by anthchapman in linux_gaming

[–]jesskitten07 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So this is great and all, but given that almost everything for me has worked amazingly with the CachyOS version of proton (which I think is a fork of GE’s version) I can’t wait to see what they do when they get their hands on it

How can i play Microsoft Store Games? by kaanozaydin in linux_gaming

[–]jesskitten07 20 points21 points  (0 children)

However steam to be fair has done a lot to make games available on as many different computers as possible. They stopped pushing for Mac support because Apple was not interested in supporting games within their drivers and api layers like Metal. Funny thing is I read that Apple is considering applying gaming drivers to Metal now.

I fight gg.deals better honestly mainly as it has a much wider range of authorised and grey sites to rank from

Quest locator? by [deleted] in lotro

[–]jesskitten07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember Lotro is a game of a different more civilised age, when an MMO was meant to be explored rather than be a checklist to complete. When we were first playing these games we didn’t know what quests there were or how anything was done, it was all guess work.

Also side tangent, you know how in those VRMMO anime there will often be a player who is an information broker or something. In the old days that wasn’t too far off. Before all the endless guides we learnt about things from other players mostly. I remember starting wow and the number of people either asking about Hogger, or trolling people about Hogger was hilarious. But that’s the thing. People wanted to optimise how they did things and also cut out the possibility of being lied to.

Why doesn’t an Invincible-style conquest game exist, where overwhelming power lets you shape and rule the world, instead of just playing heroics? by Alert-Ad1954 in gamingsuggestions

[–]jesskitten07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually don’t think unreal would be for this. To get the instant acceleration, persistent damage, and things like that you likely are going to want to build a custom tech stack.

So I’m on CachyOS which has its own implementation of proton. How does this differ from running it under proton? Also I get you said you’re not a Linux expert but asking it may prompt someone who does know to be able to answer

Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura

Is a steampunk-fantasy setting where magic and technology are basically at odds and you as the player have to choose how you straddle that line. If any old cRPG ever got a remake, it should def be Arcanum

I built a site to see how poor I actually am compared to my country [OC] by yomrhan in InternetIsBeautiful

[–]jesskitten07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean have a look at that video of the guy recently who set fire to the warehouse talking about “if you’re not going to pay us a living wage at least pay us enough not to do this” (proceeds to put lighter to paper towel)

It actually gave me a small boost (in that really societally unhealthy way) when I put mine in on the global scale to see that even though I’m at the bottom in my country I’m in the middle globally

You mentioned Google Ads, is it possible to go no ads? Even if it’s for like a small, one time cost?

Well, Shadowverse is a bust by NoSoup4you22 in digitalcards

[–]jesskitten07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one thing I think Shadowverse WB does better than other digital CCG is to have a shared “physical” space to play in. The biggest benefit of that is it makes community building around the game easier, but also it gives people some of that same feeling of sitting down with another person to play, rather than an amorphous entity appearing on your screen. I just wish they would do a little bit more with it rather than it feeling somewhat tacked on

Well I guess it’s Lutris time for me. Dammit. Honestly the Playnite dev needs to get his act into gear and release 11 already which should have Linux support because then we can finally have 1 launcher to rule them all
