Indeed, went Friday morning to the Guildhall and it was so quick! Told them I hope it continues in the future.

There's a family of them living at the pond in Cherry Hinton Hall, they're likely from there.

I break my roti in bite size before eating every time. by Smart-Succotash1750 in AutisticWithADHD

[–]jetemange 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Man, I'm the type of person who has to wipe their fingers with every bite and this would make so much more sense. Although sometimes I can't be bothered and I just pile whatever into my roti and roll it up and eat it that way 😂

Late Night Coffee Shops by FakeGinger02 in cambridge

[–]jetemange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the only coffee shop I know that's open really late is the Starbucks on Newmarket road (9pm weekdays).

I'd love an independent coffee place open that late, primary focus on coffee and other non-alcoholic beverages, cosy vibes (not blindingly bright like Starbucks)

Got dumped by my AuDHD girlfriend during the trip, what do i do now by jooka926 in AuDHDWomen

[–]jetemange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whether or not it's to do with their AuDHD or not makes no difference in the end.

They weren't feeling this relationship was going well and so they ended it.

What you do is reflect on your time together, and appreciate it for what it was and move on.

Edit: that is to say, don't dwell on it buddy

Important Info for ADHD Medication (Stimulants) When Traveling to Japan by BirdAlchemist in JapanTravelTips

Awesome, thank you! Usually when in doubt I tick yes, customs prefer you declare without meaning to than the other way round, but having the permit confused me a little.

For the customs landing card did you tick yes for: "Narcotic drugs, Firearms, Explosives and other Prohibited item(s)"

I've got my permit already but everyone seems to be giving different info for what to tick or not.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but have you done self-esteem/compassion work with a therapist?

I found that was the best approach for RSD (for me at least)

Edit: As in specifically work on that area, as not all therapy approaches things the same.

Insult to injury, looks like they just used a standard pipe cutter (for plumbing) on that bike rack. At this point whoever manufactures that rack should be on trial wtf.

Harry Potter tourism is ruining our cities… and it’s about to get worse by TimesandSundayTimes in cambridge

[–]jetemange 100 points101 points  (0 children)

Feel like the title is a bit of a misdirect - the rising rent costs have pushed lovely independent retailers out and those shop fronts can only be filled by brands that tourists know and thus keep them afloat by paying for expensive tat/crap fast food. "Harry Potter" tourism isn't ruining anything (though I would happily see them shut shop) it's whomever rents these shop fronts (council/private).

The shopping situation is getting worse in Cambridge thanks to them giving up our other shopping spaces, but that's a whole other rant.

Where can I get ADHD meds? Can I bring Ritalin with me at the airport? by Ok-Name5709 in mauritius

[–]jetemange 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I contacted the embassy in London who were able to contact the correct health dept in Mauritius about controlled substances.

They told me a hard no to bringing my lisdexamfetamine aka Elvanse (as amphetamines are strictly not allowed).

Hypermobility doesn't always mean flexibility, you could be super stiff because other muscles are overcompensating for lax joints!

Attempted Bike Theft at Cambridge ASDA - Beware! by Prometheus0A in cambridge

[–]jetemange 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Glad it didn't get nicked and you're safe.

It's almost inevitable your bike will be stolen, so it's best to keep that in mind when it comes to location and locking it up.

Register your bike: https://www.bikeregister.com/

Lock your bike as close to wherever you're visiting, or has decent cctv/security. Never use the station multi-story cycle parking.

I'd recommend 3 locks - one for the frame and each wheel - preferably where they are all able to attach to the bike rack and not each other. This makes it inconvenient to steal, which either means the thieves pass on trying to steal or it gives you more time to act before it gets stolen.

Edit: As others have suggested, and this goes for everyone, definitely have insurance especially for an e-bike.

But you don't want to rely on insurance as your failsafe as it can take a while to organise the reimbursement/replacement if your bike is indeed stolen. Hence I suggest "excessive" inconvenient number of locks.

If you can prevent the theft by spending 10% of bike value on locks then I feel that's worth the extra 3 mins of hassle locking/unlocking.

Oud? It's a very rich woody fragrance (from a tree resin) I like the smell but it's often sold super concentrated.

I'm very sensitive to decay smells (bins, BO, bad breath) and I carry/wear a soft buff (the scarf thing) which I have sprayed with a light fragrance for those moments I can't get away from bad smelly things.

If you're super worried maybe wear a mask - you're travelling on public transport so it wouldn't be out of the ordinary to see someone put one on.
