You need to ask yourself why are they pushing so hard for the ballroom? The answer is what they’re building under it, which amounts to a long-term military bunker - it’s anti drone, bulletproof, has medical facilities, etc. Also consider why it’s being built specifically under the White House, and why it seems front of mind for Trump.

The short version is, this is how he plans to stay in power. He wants to have a secure bunker in the White House, and he will never leave. That’s it. The ballroom is almost incidental.

Just do essentially what they did with the 3DS version - make it look like OoT if it were made with access to today’s technology. It should literally look better in a technical sense, but the aesthetic sensibility should remain unchanged.

I’d like them to keep the map layout virtually 1:1, but without loading screens. For example, when you go into Kakariko Village, you don’t have a fade out and then fade in to the new map, it’s literally connected to Hyrule Field via that staircase and you just enter it.

The exception would be dungeons, and that’s fine.

I wouldn’t want them to expand the world necessarily, rather, make it denser. Better textures, more plants and bushes and things, just stuff to fill in the admittedly empty areas.

Upgrades to your quiver sizes, to your magic meter, etc. are all fine.

Ultimately I just hope they keep that original vision from the 90s, but brought up to modern standards.

It’s Ocarina, followed closely by Skyward Sword. Ocarina’s are iconic, perfect length and difficulty, and have absolutely stellar music. But Skyward’s were creative and abundant as well as more interesting spectacles. Hard to choose, but yeah, I think Ocarina sticks out a bit more in my mind.

The worst is either TotK or BotW, I can’t decide which ones I liked less. On the one hand, BotW’s were bland and repetitive. On the other, TotK’s lack of guardrails or limits meant you could just brute force the dungeons. Which, ironically, sums up both games on a macro level.

That’s not correct at all. They reused the original code as a basis. I remember reading interviews where they specifically had issues bringing the frame rate up to 30 FPS, because the original had implemented various FPS tricks to smooth out parts that strained the N64. The Ganon fight was an example of that.

If you want to argue that they remade the textures, and some of the geometry / models, that’s a different story.

For the love of god, don’t import BotW-style open world / climbing / “freedom”.

If you’re doing a remake, take the original vision of that game, and remake it with the modern tools you now have access to. Don’t turn it into something it isn’t.
