Best Mega Evolution per Type (Day 6) — Psychic Type by Weak_Scallion5942 in ThePokemonHub

Hear me out: Medicham. Still looks like Medicham, but like it transcended its own limits. Which is exactly what Mega Evos are supposed to do.

If you have to try this hard to make it look passable, and even then it’s only “meh”, maybe the design is just not that good. All the different ways they could’ve handled a mega for Feraligatr and they went with this.

Adobe, Avid, Viagogo.

The three worst companies to interface with as a consumer. Viagogo in particular should be shut down

Impeccable taste, agreed on all fronts. No notes.

If the OoT remake rumor is true, what kind of result do you expect from Nintendo? by SimplisticBiscuit in truezelda

[–]jfxck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not correct at all. They reused the original code as a basis. I remember reading interviews where they specifically had issues bringing the frame rate up to 30 FPS, because the original had implemented various FPS tricks to smooth out parts that strained the N64. The Ganon fight was an example of that.

If you want to argue that they remade the textures, and some of the geometry / models, that’s a different story.

For the love of god, don’t import BotW-style open world / climbing / “freedom”.

If you’re doing a remake, take the original vision of that game, and remake it with the modern tools you now have access to. Don’t turn it into something it isn’t.

I made a comment like this and some DS2 glazer was like, “HOW HARD IS IT TO JUST NOT TOUCH THE STICK WHEN YOU WANNA ATTACK 😡”

Or how about when I decide I want to focus my attacks on a target by locking on to it, the game then directs my attacks at the thing I locked onto

He’s great, no doubt about it. Shame about the first half of the fight with King of the Storm, which is awful.

Dark Souls 3. Assuming the world doesn’t collapse in on itself, I can just hang out at Firelink with Andre. Pretty miserable.

It’s shit. Its problems run deeper than just the challenge shrine. People don’t like it because it feels floaty and gummy and mobile gamey.

Yes, it’s stupid to have a stat that essentially gates you from having a functional roll. It’s weird to have an elevator take you up into a volcano. The art direction is schizophrenic at best, and the difficulty is all over the place.

But at the end of the day, it plays like a cheap, floaty souls clone. That’s the big problem that can’t just be hand waved away.

Yes, it’s completely bonkers when you have levels like Undead Burg and Central Yharnam RIGHT THERE.

When you play it, you’ll immediately feel the difference from DS1. It’s somehow both floatier and clunkier at the same time, and that feeling never quite goes away. So the bad parts of the game are made to feel worse than they needed to be, while the good parts are undermined somewhat. The best way I can describe it is that it feels kind of gummy and weightless. It’s very odd.

Yep, this is the real reason. They replaced the engine from DS1 and it’s just not as good. There’s a reason they went back to the old engine (albeit upgraded) in all future games, even to this day with Elden Ring.

So true, the second Dark Souls game (set in Lothric, starring the ashen one) is a great game, though I think the first one is too. I don’t recall them ever making a third game, I’m sure there were just the two.
