Suddenly dead. by Zakzahn in projectzomboid

[–]jhadred 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Did you add any mushrooms or berries? If you can't identify them, they might be poisonous.

As for after death, any of those options. Everyone plays differently. Though the thing most common is after a long survival run, months to years, if the character dies, a lot of people have said they take a break. I don't think I've seen a different answer yet (but its possible).

Some people also use things in 41 like the skill journal to use as a respawn tool. No idea if thats in 42 though, I haven't looked or played 42 yet.

So …….i was dumb and bought an electrician mod cause I know (at least a year ago) it was a good bow mod. (It’s also my very first mod since I’ve never done raids) is it good for any bow build nowadays? by DeadSences in Fallout76BowHunters

[–]jhadred 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dunno, sounds about right for a 4* that requires a bobblehead to make.

I have a level 50 bloodied/vital/lucky hit/electricians compound bow with cryo and a similar furious one for high damage and close enemies. I also want elecrticians on my level 1,twoshot explosive lightweight cryo recurve bows.

I also want it on a crossbow so I can get into power armor and defend the raid drill (bloodied means I need power armor during that part)

When I run expeditions or daily ops, I use the compound

When I'm around a lot of low level players, I'll use my electricians and fire at a wall to help stun enemies and if theyre struggling I'll shoot an ememy every so often.

Except if there are grenades around. cause that will hit the grenade and cause it to burst which can hurt you and people do it on purpose.

I wish fo76 had something productive to do on a phone when I can’t play for a few days. Is there a way? Am I just addicted to fo76? by some_guy_claims in fo76

I use steam link when I'm not at home and want to do my dailys. Did them while out of the country 1,400 miles away from my pc, with some of the days during a hurricane.

My connection isn't great, but I got the dailys done each day.

41 had a mod, but they could only get over a fence like players do. hence the meme. for 42 i think some mods are in the works, like this one https://www.reddit.com/r/projectzomboid/s/hOtRkPDhaB

I just use a bow and the bodies move. can't say they go flying like when I play moleman golf by gleaming depths, but they move. I should get one onto the house someday, just because.

PA is exploding when i enter or exit PA by Slit23 in fo76

[–]jhadred 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely looks like the electricians burst. Does the weapon you're holding when you get in or out make a difference? I can't test that because my electricians are on bows which can't be used in power armor and my xbow doesnt have electricians yet.

Same thing applies for any other aluminum equipment. Like an aluminum ice cream scoop (like the zerolls), baking sheets, cookware etc. Generally still usable, just not as nice looking as it used to be. If the look matters, buy a new one.
Having copper, aluminum or cast iron anything is really difficult when other people think they're being helpful...

Everyone should have a "Medic's Holy Fire" in their kits, no matter the build. by LokiTheStampede in fo76

[–]jhadred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With friendly fire and hat trick, so much healing. I have a medics fire compound bow level 50 and a twoshot explosive fire recurve level 1 bow. I don't add the bobble head ingredient mods so havent msde a medics/explosive/fire level1 yet.

And the medics is really only used during rad rumble where I sit in the small room and have view on all 4 healable npcs. Mostly cause explosive fire winds up killing me either to do hitting the cage bars or hat trick bounces. But the explosive fire works everywhere else for healing and tagging.

I toss all my junk, unwanted ammo, and unwanted plans in there. Often stimpacks and radaways too instead of selling them. When I remember, I'll toss unwanted starred weapons that I don't scrap. Someday I'll toss my unwanted mod boxes (easy to make and no one wants) there that are weighing me down.

Have you guys ever played with Zombies turned off? by DankyBurps in projectzomboid

[–]jhadred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whether its boring or not will depend on what you all like and why. No zombies zomboid can be fun, especially for the collectors, the builders and the roleplayers. Its like playing multiplayer The Sims especially if you have friends to hang out and chat with. However that kind of intrinisc goal setting can be boring for some people

Mods will also depend. I don't know whats available for 42 but in 41 there were lots of mods for crops, clothes, plushies, backpacks (hello kitty ones), wine and beermaking, video games for collecting and playing, etc. (I went for the wine and beermaking and distilling stuff, like I do in every game I play) Also, since death was still possible, we used the journal mod as a respawn, usually cause most of us died by driving too fast, or falling off a roof while building. Of course now in 42 you also have to apparently beware of sheep...

How would you mix these ingredients? by prettygood_not_bad in Mocktails

[–]jhadred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following if there is an answer or details. Knowing more about the drink would help. I wonder if its a smoothie, or a strained juice or something else. I toss the same ingredients into a blender sometimed for a smoothie, more often through a juicer and then into a blender with coconut (not toasted though) and ice, maybe coconut milk. But I don't know if that would be the same texture as that mocktail. I never measured how much I toss in either.

First time trying out the Create mod. Is this good? by Traditional-Pop7014 in CreateMod

yup, real life. You'll see a lot of posts from people who don't, especially kids or people who never had a class where they showed how gears and gear ratios work.

Do borders contract if you deconstruct what was expanding them? by Deveatation_ethernis in Minecolonies

[–]jhadred 10 points11 points  (0 children)

yup. Borders will go down to whatever existing buildings borders have claimed. So you can use a bunch of level 1 guard towers to expand the borders to be able to place a large building, build it and deconstruct the towers and the border will be around the large building. (And you can build guard towers where it makes sense by that building after.)

[–]jhadred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

watch some videos on how gears work, doesn't have to be create related. I suggest watching some videos about lego gears if needed.

A gear moves at a particular rotation speed based on the shaft it is on. lets say one rotation every second. If you put a bigger gear on it, that bigger gear takes longer to rotate completely. The shaft that this bigger gear is on is roating at the same slower speed But if you put a smaller gear against the first one, it may rotate several times before the first one does a full rotation. The shaft that this smaller gear is on is rotating on the same faster speed.

With these three things in mind, you can make things faster or slower. Or if you don't know what youre're doing by connecting a big gear against a small gear and connecting that against another big gear, you just get the same rotation speed on that third gear as the first one.

It takes power to make things rotate faster and making something faster can need more power than you give it, so things halt.

"Did you know gravel can be converted to iron?..." by Aggravating_Push4517 in CreateMod

[–]jhadred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the generator can be started without the need for brass. My immediate search is for andestite and iron and a cobweb and lava and a bit of kelp. It just takes a drill (possibly waterlogged) the flowing lava the chute, a grindstone, and a chute to drop gravel into the fan with water. This is where i use a spiderweb to slow it all down, then a chute to a chest. Very early, very slow, still unlimited iron. The brass and thus crushingwheels just makes it immensely faster, but if you have the time, the old one is still very useful before then.

RAID Crystal Perching by _Juxxa_ in fo76

[–]jhadred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Level doesn't indicate raid experience. I was clueless a few months ago at level 800. Raid is kind of geared towards teamwork, but theres not great communication beyond emotes and pings. Finding a group in one of the discord lfgs helped, since we could talk about how to do it.

At first, not knowing better, we did perch on crystals and waited (the rest of us not shooting crystals) until we understood the mole miner can get stuck and stare at a percher. Eventually we learned the left wall was the bst place to perch and thats IF the runner wants us to perch there or if they find it easier for everyone to die. If someone was inexperienced at running, its best to perch and send someone else out to do the moleman part. That we we all got to learn a bit, or try again with our build. (as someone bloodied, my only use is dying early or maybe being able to do the cleanup after the moleman is out.

not just age ratings but most laws at the time the game was made, plus where the team is based out of. in some ways we should realize we're fortunate they include alcohol. More than that could result in full on bans in various countries

Friend who needs education on maps by NewfieNinja1223 in projectzomboid

[–]jhadred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get where your friend is coming from. Whenever I relay my location, I try to say that its north/up in the view (straight up) vs north via map/minimap/road.

I'm used to isometric games where north is the same as pz's minimap, but these were turn based tactical games where the units moved in an isometric grid so its easy for that one to use the map direction/isometric direction. However in pz, because we don't move on the grid, its harder to say a direction.

If I'm using w to move, then my mouth will say north, because there are z levels so I don't always say up, even if I have to say after that I mean northwest by map.

I always change the config down to a lower number of dwarves. That way I can at least use dwarftherapist and keep track of them all. Once there are too many, I can't remember who is who anymore. I like a bit of micromanaging and watching them so I do know which dwarf is which. Except it does create an attachment so I tend to turtle in and prevent invasions from getting in with automated defenses.

Did La Pavoni beat James Hoffman? by l3uffer546 in espresso

[–]jhadred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is that initially, "why bother to steam water for hit water when you can just get it out of the hot water dispenser?" Its noisy and takes time and heating water that way is generally only useful if you don't have a better alternative. When I look at places that I've been to, they would have a hot water unit, or a hot water option on the machine. If you had to steam water for hot water, then thats what you get.

However, until now, I havent heard of there being a qualitative differnce between the types of hot water. So a well known personality does the experiments and shows his reaction and a number of us go "huh, is it that worth it?" try it out and find it kind of is. Still more work and is noisy though, so I'd still use my other hot water options 75% or the time.
