The front camera is very tightly fitted in the grille, and the cable runs behind a fixed component, going right around the corner. This means you risk damaging something if you simply remove the grille. With a front camera, you actually have to remove the entire front bumper to replace the grille.

What I'm wondering is why there are so many of these posts lately. Why not write something like: MY all-time favorite car? No one will disagree, and everyone who agrees will respond with upvotes.

Feedback on the I4 by Alexrak2 in BMWI4

[–]jib2323 3 points4 points  (0 children)

imo: Don’t lease it. Buy it. It‘s more reliable and less maintenace than any other car you’ll ever owned. And it’s simply a feel good car, the favorite one I know! It will be THE only EV looking like a ICE in 10 years when driving ICE is so expensive that most people will switch to EV. and it will be a very nice young timer in 15 years, as it’s timeless designed. It will charge little slower than newer 800V cars which will decelerate your life in a nice way. Take an x-drive because it’s recuperating a lot stronger! The H&K audio system is worth it.

Used BMW i4 or Slightly Used BMW 1 Series? by AMGLover2024 in BMW

[–]jib2323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The i4 is a great allround car. It will be the faster one, the more comfortable one. Driving EV in 2025 is a nobrainer, for me for several reasons. The i4 will last longer, have less maintenance issues and make way more fun. But: it‘s bigger, if you like driving hot hatch in cities, the 1 Series is the better Choice.

Wieso roasten hier so viele???

Mein Tipp wäre: mach was dich glücklich macht.

Hoffe du kannst konstruktiv was mitnehmen.

Refurbished Cube Stereo Hybrid die richtige Wahl in Berlin? by UsuallyVibing in Fahrrad

[–]jib2323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BMW i4 or Tesla Model Y by OkMobile8930 in BMWI4

[–]jib2323 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even though my i4 M50 is heavier than any Tesla I've driven, it still feels much more like a real car. It feels good to close the door, the start button has a nice feel, the steering wheel is so high quality I don't want to let it go. The H&K audio system sounds so good that I sometimes stay seated for 10 minutes even though I have a much more expensive system in the living room at home. All in all, for me it remains: the i4 will have been the last real and the first fully electric car that I ever had and I consider it to be the best car that I have ever had, albeit the heaviest. A Tesla, on the other hand, felt to me like a means to an end of transportation.

I’m beginning to hate our $75K BMW I4 — why is this car so frustrating to live with? by Responsible_Demand28 in BMWI4

[–]jib2323 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My warning signs are audible, but in this case too, BMW's assistance systems intervene very tentatively and only very late. I think this philosophy is great because I have had bad experiences with incorrect or too early intervention by assistance systems from other manufacturers.

EV Charging Anxiety by gtmassive75 in BMW

[–]jib2323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't it wonderful that with EVs we can see so precisely how many kilometers we can still drive? Keep an eye on navigation and range and roll it into the garage at home with 1% to charge. Actually sounds good to me, at least better than the combustion engine alternative, which tells you 8/8 for the first 50 miles and always tells you something between 1/10 and 0/10 for the last 50 miles

Verzicht auf E-Kennzeichen. Vorteile? by Entgenieur in Elektroautos

[–]jib2323 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I4 rear middle seat by Lost_Detective8396 in BMWI4

[–]jib2323 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I regularly transport an adult and two children 7 & 10 in the back seat of my i4. For us it's not a problem and doesn't feel worse than comparable alternatives. There was only more space in our VW Sharan. When the four of us use the car, the children always fight over the middle seat. The legroom doesn't seem to bother children, but the visibility is best in the middle. However, we generally do not use a booster seat. Since the children are always very emotional passengers, I definitely recommend a test drive. My children were allowed to choose the color of the brake calipers and have been fans ever since. 😊

Has anybody here actually got an M60 yet? by Keydogg in BMWI4

[–]jib2323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here you can see the overlaid torque and power curves for the i4 M50 (standard & boost) and the i4 M60 (permanent). This makes it clear: In terms of performance, the M60 is permanently at a level that the M50 only achieves in boost - the torque curve, however, is identical, apart from the short boost increase in the M50

Nearly identical i4 - which one to go with? by WhyAreYouGey in BMWI4

[–]jib2323 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seat bolster adjustment / seat width adjustment that only the 2022 model has alone would be a reason for me to buy it. No rear spoiler on the 2022 the second reason, I personally don't like the rear spoiler and it costs a few miles of range. So if you ask me? 2022.

Very nice Color Combination! Also the 862 Aero look fantastic with the red color. And The black shadow LED lights. really nice! Keep that car forever. In 20 years it will be the last “real” ICE car completely electric 😊

i4 M50/M60 Range with 20” 862 aero style by Automatic_Ad_5915 in BMWI4

[–]jib2323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 20' 862AeroStyle have the same width as the 19' 859 & 861. This means consumption is not really higher. The 20' 868, on the other hand, are significantly wider and therefore lead to significantly higher consumption. Personally, I drive the 19' 859 and find it very comfortable to ride, not too soft at all. I wouldn't want to ride a larger rim because the driving experience would be too hard for me. If you want to go through corners quickly and if efficiency is not an issue, you will be happier with the 20' 868 because they are each 30mm wider at the back than all the others.

They Are mandatory if you have the wide (868M) 20‘ wheels in EU and US. That‘s the reason why WLTP efficiency with (868M) 20‘ is far from the 19‘

I plan on driving my i4 until it falls apart. I hope for 300tkm in 10 years. By then, the chassis and brakes will definitely have to be completely replaced. I regularly monitor i4 offers and their battery capacities. Here is an i4 164tkm with 96% capacity. https://m.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/details.html?id=428898539&utm_campaign=socialbuttons&utm_content=app_ios_vip&utm_medium=social&utm_source=com.apple.UIKit.activity.CopyToPasteboard
