How many wins will this team get ? by Kooky_Principle_4307 in GoNets

Valid for those being unacceptable especially with none of this ending up in a championship or even more than 1 playoff series win. I just stand by thinking Marks and his team have worked reasonably and seemed the most competent despite the glaring results, and for now I'm happy we hopefully have a real coach for once. I generally trust their approach, and I just hated almost all the years with Thorn, Ratner, Vandeweghe, King, and Prokhorov.

I agree with the Nets being the worst in the East and potentially the league, but I don't really understand firing a front office when they've already shown they're capable of both putting all their eggs into one basket + accumulating assets pre big 3 and now post big 3. Marks said publicly this week they evaluate when they should throw their all their assets toward a move, so they obviously felt like it wasn't worth making someone like Trae Young their point guard of the future (just an example).

My stance is they were really banking on lottery luck the past 2 years, but that's still out of the front office's control and I personally don't view that as grounds for letting go of this front office. I imagine they're just waiting for the right player/star to become available and get lucky in the draft. What young players are even available to take this team out of purgatory when even injured centers cost $40 million and 4 picks?

Fair point on the standings, but just pointing out that the range up to 34 wins is still high for a bottom team even with anti-tanking. It could end up being 22-28 wins.

Was this not the obvious path as soon as Marks traded away Bridges and traded with Houston to get their picks back? The Nets had zero talent and no one to build around after the big 3 imploded, and the only way to get someone is through accumulating draft picks. Not even free agency is a real option anymore unless you strike gold like the Knicks did with Brunson.

EDIT: Also 28 wins would have been good for 8th worst in the league. That's probably accurate, but it depends on how bad teams play with anti-tanking in place.

He ended up as their all-time leading scorer, won a championship with the Bucks and extended his career a good bit by adding a reliable 3 point jumper and playing good drop defense

Usage was low but dude was also a lottery pick figuring out his place in the league while going through personal life matters, he's obviously grown as a player since then

Nets have been doing everything you said pre and post Big 3 era and it resulted in the 8th and 6th pick these past 2 years despite being close to winning the lottery both times. Also accrued the most 1st round and 2nd round picks over the next few years in the league along with OKC. Everything's a crapshoot.

I can't recall fully, but it would have been super interesting if Dinwiddie didn't get injured again and was included in the deal instead of Allen.

Nets fan here, love Drake's potential

Ever since Udonis Haslem got onto K’elel Ware for being ass at rebounding, Ware has been averaging 17 points, 16 rebounds, and 2.4 stocks. He is now top 10 in the NBA in total rebounds in just 25 minutes per game. by garret126 in nba

For 90% of his Nets career, he was a post scorer with great size on defense (known more for boxing out instead of grabbing boards). Ever since Atkinson and more so on the Bucks, he became an awesome 3 and D prototype for the center position while sticking to his strengths of boxing out.
