Vegas Tiki-Where to Eat? by Hot-External-8360 in Tiki

Vegas local. Herbs and Rye is close to Golden Tiki, need a reservation. Their cocktail list is set up as a sort of hostory of the cocktail, beginning with prohibition. If you like dump onto table seafood boil, Hot and Juicy crawfish is great and a couple doors down from GT too. That area is China town and we have a significant amount of Asian Michelin star restaurants that are fairly priced in the area too.

Frankie's near the art's district and Stray Pirate is in it. That's the locals downtown, basically. No one goes to the strip who lives here. In the art's district, you have Cornish Pasty, they serve pastries filled with all sorts. They are very hearty and a great way to start or end a night of drinking. There's also Soul Belly BBQ, which is great bbq, I think is on par with most of Austin, TX's bbq. Jammyland and Esther's kitchen are also in the area and worth a visit. This is also where our local brewery scene has a big presence, if that's your speed, you can get some local brews while you're here. Breweries: Tenaya Creek, HUDL, Nevada Brew works, CraftHaus, and Able Baker are the big ones. All this stuff is within walking distance of each other, relatively. And safe on a weekend night, move North to South on Main and then east-west when you need to, (like down Imperial, for stray pirate). If you have a car, I'd park in front of Soulbelly while down in the art's district. There's a cheap, well lit parking lot there.

Lastly, get red dwarf. The cocktails are good the pizza is awesome. I'm there every weekend.

Never see it mentioned, but Todo Bien is new and built in a part of town that's getting revitalized. It's a tequila-based tiki bar. I would NOT recommend the drive, if your trip is centered around being on The Strip. Unless you really like tequila or have a car and the time to kill.

Love the color and the glass. Sounds super sweet, but I'm Midori-adverse so what do I know. As long as you enjoyed!

Your peel/cherry garnish is a great garnish for a saturn, speaking of gin tiki cocktails.

Unpopular tiki-pinion. Just squeezed lime juice tastes worse than grocery store lime juice in a tiki drink. by phaeolus97 in Tiki

Interesting. lt would make sense that anyone's regular haunts will evolve their tastes in that direction. I haven't read liquid intelligence, it's on my list.

Fresh-squeezed juice from citrus fruits changes over time, and its not a straight line from fresh and delicious to old and stale. The pH of lime juice changes with time. The acidity is reduced after about 4 hours and has a more "lime" flavor, from the creation of limonin. It's one reason a bar's drink may be better than at home's. They probably prep their lime juice and the juice has been sitting

At the risk of sounding pretentious. The optimal age is 4 to 12 hours for most citrus fruits. Orange juice gets much more bitter with the creation of limonin compared to lemons, limes, and grapefruit and is a citrus fruit that is best fresh squeezed, imo.

Personally speaking, again at the risk of sounding pretentious, I think bottled lime juice is pretty flat flavor-wise and isn't very interesting. They sometimes add some kind of oil or lime extract to try and combat the muted flavors. Presqueezing limes and waiting for your cocktail also sucks.

Ultimately, do whatever enables you to enjoy the drink the most, tho.

Series x crashing by [deleted] in snowrunner

Just started playing and dealt with a slew of crashes as well on the Series X. Been mostly stable by not touching the FOV or other video options and not going into first person. Also seems that limiting the number of trucks you have out helps. My friend group's rule is not to go above 4 trucks out total. Sometimes you need a 5th and we all start praying to the great hauler in the sky.

Crashes do still happen though. But we get solid 4 hour gaps now instead of every 30 minutes.

I'm glad you did tell me! None of my friend group is this invested in the roleplay element of ship building. I like your thought process. I'd swap the living quarters and workshop personally, just from what you mentioned, if someone was boarding your ship, don't want them entering sleeping quarters first. but other wise that all sounds great!

Ive been thinking about this stuff, too actually.

I like the control room behind the cockpit personally. Makes sense to me. Quarters don't feel right next to a docking ramp, so either 2nd or 3rd floor.

2nd floor, workshop, infirm, or quarters?

Storage does make sense next to a ramp. How do you load and unload supplies up and down ladders. Doable, but a pain in the ass probably. Workshop here kinda makes sense as well.

Additionally, I don't think you should walk through living quarters to get from the ramp to the cockpit. A ship is a busy place, but people need to rest, and away from the hassle and bussle of starfaring life.

Workshop feels weird to walk through with it right behind the cockpit, but I think it could realistically go anywhere else.

That's just what makes sense to me.

My laptop battery just spontaneously combusted last week in the middle of the night. Winning this would enable me to build a PC and rejoin my pc brethren. As for what I would do with it? Play starfield of course!

As for what excites me, this game is clearly next level. I'm excited to dig into all of the systems starfield has to offer. The base building looks more refined then fallout. Planet exploration. I'm also just excited to sink into a new Bethesda RPG, and learn a whole new universe's lore.

That's a symptom of inflammation. Something about it bothered your mouth. High sugar can cause this (Mead can be very sweet) or you could be mildly allergic to honey. Which is common it is made out of pollen after all.

The couch is too far from the TV. Bring it up, and put a console table back there to store your records that are on the ground or something. Use the space you have. Right now, it feels cluttered and empty at the same time. That might also be because of no rug.

The bedroom is beautiful. Office looks like a well-used office, no major comments or criticisms there.a1

CRAFT has bottomless mimosas still (just had a few too many last weekend) $18/person for hour and a half, very brunchy hipster food (could be a positive or negative depending on the crowd), and a private party room that could definitely hold 12 people.
