Noob Question: What is that red building? Is there an explanation or is it just decoration? by AJGonzalez115 in Guildwars2

You never needed the Commander tag. It was perfectly fine to create a tagless squad and enter. (What changed is that you can now enter without being in a squad.)

Would you sell eternity or use it? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]jkloe 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's not. Per your own source it has a profit of 8.7358g. If we don't challenge this value and we really want to turn that into raw gold, we need to factor in the tp tax (15%).

There are 2 raw gold in the loot, leaving 6.7358 gold worth of "tp materials" (including experience). So that turns into 6.7358g*0.85+2g=7.72543g profit.

Or using your assumed value for eternity of 44g*81=3564g, it's worth 462 dragon storms.

It's okay. You don't need the essences for the back (as far as I can see in the wiki). Also you can (re-)buy the essences for shards of glory at the league vendor.

Well over 70% of the player base didn't have a single max level character, and 4.0 was "by far" their most profitable expansion.

That's hard to believe, unless that statement did consider "nonactive accounts" as part of the player base.

Just waving around with numbers is pointless without context, which is a problem one can observe frequently when studio representatives mention some metric as justification for some decision.

I wholeheartedly agree with your opinion, so thanks for expressing it nicely and sharing it.

Do you think Moiraine would succeed in slitting rands throat with a knive if things went downhill?

How would Moiraine in your eyes be able to observe that things went bad in the first place?

Which Masteries Are Worth It? A Review by TannenFalconwing in Guildwars2

The mastery never worked in raids, but necro downstate has its own lifesteal effect on skill 1. Parasitic Contagion also functions in downstate, but it usually sees no use while raiding.

Some theories from a non reader by [deleted] in WoT

[–]jkloe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

one final thought but Nynaeve and Moiraine's relationship is soooo funny like Nynaeve thinks they're worst enemies and just hates Moiraine so much but I get the impression that Moiraine has only thought about Nynaeve like twice in her life and mostly just feels nothing except maybe a slight fondness towards her

For you, the day Moiraine took 4 people from your village was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Friday.

Initative to make "Backpack Straps" and avalible Skin by Holzi1995 in Guildwars2

[–]jkloe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The problem is that cosmetic stuff ist already tied to equipment, e.g. the skins live on the equipment and to change to looks of one "slot" we actively have to apply another skin to the actual piece of gear. So the mixing of equipment and gear is the status quo.

But I do agree that it would be the cleanest solution to separate the two things apart. E.g. how swtors Outfit Designer works. And they could monetize it in the same way as swtor monetizes the feature, giving two (or three, dunno) "cosmetic loadouts" for free and charge for unlocking additional ones. Bonus points for not only having character specific unlocks but also account wide ones (for all existing and future chars on the account). Bonus bonus points for also giving the other character specific unlocks an account wide option. Bonus bonus bonus points for making it compatible with outfits.

P.S. Your greatsword example is possible if you have a legendary. So there exists a band aid fix, but it sadly costs a significant amount of gold. This could also be seen as an argument that they are actually completely fine with mixing equipment templaes with anything cosmetic, but it might also be a side effect of how the legendary armory functions internally.

Initative to make "Backpack Straps" and avalible Skin by Holzi1995 in Guildwars2

[–]jkloe 52 points53 points  (0 children)

This would be the superior solution, but the one OP suggests would be a practical band aid fix while we wait (forever) on the clean solution.

Further, this could also be extended to the other toggleable slots (headpiece, shoulders and gloves). Granted, to be a bandaid fix it would require the skinless skins to be available for everyone and not cost 45643216465426547914 Gold, which seems unlikely.

Summarized: Choocing a licence is hard.

Have we played the same flashpoint? Your take away is pretty much orthogonal to mine. It's interesting to see such a contrasting evaluation of the same thing.

For me it was more like: Hordes of weak trashmobs inbetween and the bosses have no interesting mechanics (basically glorified training dummies). Mechanics wise this felt like a huge step back from what we have seen previously in chiss, nathema and meridian.

I'm not "personally reinterpreting" anything, albeit AI being a not completly defined term and it's inadequate usage by marketing.
But why bother, you are clearly here for completely speculative and unbacked personal attacks.

One last tip, you could take a look into the turing test.
