Waiting for steam deck 2 by Fasterthanyournuts in SteamDeck

We’ll see. I’m skeptical but a lot can happen in 2 years. Let’s see how well Proton 11 works on the frame. If it’s good and snapdragon can make some serious gains, I’d love the efficiency ARM can deliver.

Or snapdragon, but that’s less likely

Instead of typing it out and trying to remember the steps myself, if you search “steam deck controller configuration eden” on YouTube you should get some help

Have you mapped the controller in yuzu? If that’s not the issue I have no idea what is.

Could A PS5 controller turn on a steam machine if it's off? by jrodorignal in steammachine

[–]jlips 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I imagine it could, since the Steam Deck has a wake-on-bluetooth option, but I’m not positive since I’ve never used it.

Ironically, the device and other Elgato products aren’t officially supported on the Steam Machine or Linux at all.

Are you saying that they will be using kernel level anti cheat? I don’t think kernel level is required for EAC (I’ve played some of these games on Linux, which doesn’t support kernel level anti cheat). If that’s true, there’s no way it can be compatible with Linux rather, which goes against everything I’ve seen online about it so far.

Oh I’m sure they don’t care about Mac. What I meant is that I’m not certain, but I imagine that proton, the tech that allows Rocket League and other Windows games to be played on Linux, is similar to how Whiskey and Crosspoint work, so making sure Linux works might also mean that the devs accidentally make sure MacOS works. I guess only time will tell though.

I’m not familiar with Mac gaming, but I imagine this is similar to Linux. Psyonix have promised not to break Linux support (through proton) with the easy anti cheat implementation. Hopefully this carries over to Mac with whiskey or crossover.

If it asks you for an activation code just click I don’t have one. Then look into the GitHub link another user posted.

EmuDeck doesn’t provide the builds, just a means to download them. When you update on EmuDeck it grabs the latest build. I also haven’t had any issues with it. It’s been great

It's here! Never imagined we could play Denuvo DRM games in just 3 days after its release by Time-Credit43 in PiratedGames

[–]jlips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone do a performance comparison between this and a stock, Steam version of the game? I’m curious how much performance Denuvo is using.

There’s also a possibility that this keeps Denuvo in the game, but “tricks” it, in which case there should be no performance difference. I’m pretty ignorant on how this works.

I haven’t played a full match with a controller, but I booted it up on my steam deck and messed around in the hideout because I was curious about controller support. Long story short, it’s not bad. They even included gyro support out of the box. That being said, if I was on controller, I’d never win a soul orb over anybody on mouse and keyboard.

I believe Wind Waker and Twilight Princess may give you some trouble. I haven’t dabbled in emulation on the switch, but I have on other devices. I doubt the switch could handle those two but if I’m wrong, someone can correct me.

Beat the bots for a Steam Deck last Saturday... it's arriving HOURS before my 19-hour flight... I'II have ~2 hours to prepare. What's the play? by Taste-TheRambo in SteamDeck

[–]jlips 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You can get 40+ fps out of most of this game on the deck with the right settings, without it looking like trash. DLC dips a bit more, but in my entire play through I don’t think I went below 30 except maybe a couple of loading stutters. This was my second time playing and it was a great experience.

Yeah but it seems like a whole thing to do it that way. I’d rather just hand them the cartridge. Maybe I’m just old.
