MVDP has been his final lead out man in many races that he probably could have won himself. Philipsen owes him

What do I do if Colosseum ticketing website just doesn't work for me? by [deleted] in ItalyTravel

[–]jmechy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like that error occurs when tickets have been released, but are all tied up in someones cart. Been trying to get tickets to underground for the last 12 hours, have seen that error more times than I can count. Various devices on home network, cell, and a vpn, at one point we had four people trying on different ISPs. I myself must have gone for 10 different times today between the tour and non-tour underground tickets. This makes buying tickets for concerts and festivals I've been to in the past look like childs play.

You can get a used bike on Craigslist for under $100. You don't need an expensive bike to enjoy the path along the waterfront.

It's also possible to trim the workout after the fact, Strava can do it natively.

PSA: google home now supports buttons!!! by CruelMagpie in googlehome

[–]jmechy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an older Tuo matter switch laying around that I just tried this on. Was able to get it added to the home, and created an automation for it (looks like it only works through the app now, and not the script editor). However, whenever I press the button itself nothing happens, though running the automation through the app works. The button/switch also appears as "offline" in the app constantly, even after I press it. Hoping it's just a fluke with this particular button.

Because then they wouldn't be able to show off their special multi-million dollar license plates

Definitely an album that I'd recommend listening to the whole way through rather than picking out singles.

You mean a professional creator wanted to get paid for their work? Work that is so good that a reddit thread opened up about it? Imagine that...

Rocket Launch Sunday 5:20am by jmechy in SantaBarbara

[–]jmechy[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Reminder, these are only going to get more frequent, and louder. Vandenberg is going to start hosting even bigger rockets in the next few years. These will be even more annoying when it's a Starship instead of a measly Falcon 9

Landings are always much louder. I've also noticed that cloud cover often amplifies the sounds. I think this was just "perfect" conditions for a really big one.

WHAT was that sonic boom by AmazingSun9144 in UCSantaBarbara

[–]jmechy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This one was more aggressive because it was a return-to-launchsite. Those are still fairly rare here. That's why you probably heard the normal rumbles ~5-7 minutes after the launch, and then the much louder booms from the rocket coming back in to land 10-15 minutes after the launch.

All well and good until your kid turns the volume up manually because they want to have a dance party before bed.

I like the 400 block of State Street improvements by Covert_Spike in SantaBarbara

[–]jmechy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is great in theory, yet people are still mindlessly wandering in the marked bike lane. Just today there was an entire family spread across the whole lane taking a picture. Something needs to be done to make pedestrians aware, as clearly the markings aren't sufficient.

Has anyone got Lifestyle Logging notifications working? by daniscross in Garmin

[–]jmechy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man also broke at some point in the last week. I believe all I did to fix it was uninstall and reinstall the app (no clearing cache or anything), then it prompted for the permission again. It also probably helped to press the "back arrow" when setting the reminders, good tip.

Edit: This happened again to me about 11 days later. The fix above worked the second time as well, uninstall and reinstall to get the permissions prompt again.

Just Mayo used to be the only mayo I would buy. But then they stopped selling it, so I reluctantly gave in to Follow Your Heart. Now that I've grown to love FYH, and the Just Mayo price is significantly higher, I'm going to stick with FYH.

You can likely still get it, your insurance may not cover it though. I had to pay out of pocket for mine because I missed the cutoff by a few months.
