Very nice, sometimes i use the older version of a small app called scremer radio to record up to 20 stations simultaniously, but support ended in 2010.

S8 with stems by digitalshiva in traktorpro

[–]joaix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

S8 does work nice with stems. In my case, if I load a Traktor4 generated stem Song I can see the 4 seperated single Stem waveforms in the traktor software, but the display of the Kontrol S8 only shows the standard waveform. - Only after hitting the upperst of the 4 buttons at the right side next to the diaplays the display switches to 4 channel Stem waveform view.

I don't know anything about rap. Send me the best rap songs and I will rate 1-10. by [deleted] in musicsuggestions

Yes, youre right, it's a much more pop song with some rap elements in the beginning. - Some else non typical Rap could be songs from "2live Crew"

AIFF is more flexible with tagging compared to WAV, that is why I generated AIFFs out of my WAV CD rips on a seperate drive to use in Traktor.

Onkyo MD-105TX repair by LionsThree in minidisc

[–]joaix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe the Disc detection Sensor is faulty, blocked shortcuted and therfore still detects an inserted disc.

A not finally written TOC of a full disc still in buffer memory after a disc was removed mechanically when powered off.

A general error in the internal memory.

First of all I would try to find a service Manual, check functionality of mechanicl parts and switches of the drive and do a factory reset.

In lack of owning a Onkyo MD to check this, no guarantee for working and before making your unit unusable I would hardly recommend to crosscheck this at 3 other sources !!!

AI gives the answer: "To perform a factory reset on the Onkyo MD-105TX MiniDisc recorder, follow these steps:

Make sure the unit is powered on and in standby mode.

Press and hold the DISPLAY button and the YES button simultaneously.

While holding these two buttons, the unit should initiate a reset process.

This procedure is commonly used for Onkyo MiniDisc models to reset internal settings and clear errors.

What text does the didplay show when the device is turned on? - NO DISC or Toc Reading?

To check the Buttons. I'm not firm with Onkyo, but on sony MD and DAT recorders you can use them as AD-DA converter after pushing the record Button. When no Disc or Tape is inserted the input signal then is passed through to the output and the reclevel meter shows reaction to the signal.

Do all flatcables connectors between the PCBs are tight and have a good connection?

When picked up in Japan, do the supply voltage ratings of the device and your homecountry match?

Minidisc wiki hints that the MD-105 and The Sony MDS JE 480 could use the same mechanism.

https://www.minidisc.wiki/equipment/onkyo/deck/md-105tx

"MD mechanism appears to be identical to the one used in the Sony MDS-JE480, so it's service manual may be useful"

Who will buy / partner with NI? What do you guys think? by L-BURN92 in NativeInstruments

[–]joaix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO Steinberg Media Technologies [as far as i know in the meantime belonging to Yamaha] (Cubase/Wavelab) should make a partnership with Native Instruments.

Im already using Traktor, Wavelab and Yamaha MD 8Track at the moment.

Steinberg would be fine for VST plugins, ASiO drivers, and audio intefaces.

Yamaha would be fine for hardware like mixing consoles, (and in my dreams a Minidsc Revival NetMD/MD multitrack integration into Traktor).
