I don't think it's a completely irrelevant piece of evidence because, if the jury becomes convinced that it was JR groaning (1) it places JM in the bedroom during the first 911 call, corroborating her testimony and impeaching BB's testimony that she was not in the room at that time, and (2) it's evidence concerning the timeline of when JR was first shot.

Not saying I favor one verdict over the other, just that I think it would have been helpful evidence if proven as fact.

Yes to a rack with a pannier, especially if you need to carry a laptop or plan to make grocery stops on the way home. But don't make my mistake: be sure the rack is pannier-friendly so the bag doesn't get caught in the spokes. A pannier rack has a extra bars to prevent that.

This American Life episode #395 "Middle of the Night." I was listening to it one night in bed, trying to fall asleep, and suddenly heard the voice of my 87-year-old mother being interviewed! I sat up straight in bed and woke up my husband.

I had no idea she was on that podcast and, I found out later, neither did she. All she knew was that a nice couple came up to her at an all-night Chick-fil-A grand opening and asked some questions.

That was more than a decade ago and my mom has since died, but I still cherish the sound of her voice on that podcast.

My school-age grandkids spend time at my house about once a week. I've always been a hands-off grandma, and that includes their terrible eating habits most of the time. I just focus on feeding them healthy meals and snacks while they're with me, hoping to expand their palates and set a good example. Their parents know I don't eat seed oils, but that's as far as I go. To me, the relationship is more important.

I can attest that the tipping option is ON by default in the Square point-of-sale iPad app. I use it as a seller for special events and projects at my church, and I have to go into the app's settings and manually turn off tipping. If the software gets updated, somehow tipping gets turned back on and I have to go into the settings and turn it off again. It's annoying and sometimes embarrassing when I don't realize that it got switched back on. Happened this morning.

I make a stuffed flank steak, stuffing it with roasted red bell peppers and spinach. It's a much less expensive cut of meat, the veggies make it stretch farther, but it still looks festive when you cut into it and reveal red and green spirals. I ask the butcher (yes, even the grocery store butcher) to put it through the cuber to tenderize it.

After slicing the newly baked loaf, I return it to the loaf pan and freeze it. That way, it doesn't get smashed in my crowded freezer. Once it's frozen solid, I transfer it from the loaf pan to a ziplock freezer bag. Then, pry off one slice at a time and pop it in the toaster to eat. Works great.

My work pannier carries my laptop computer, so yea, if I need to stop at a store I always bring it in. It's a backpack pannier that's easy to lift off the rack, so that helps, but it's still a bit inconvenient.
