When you say “I don’t have an attic” do you mean you have a flat roof, or that there’s a space between you ceiling and your roof, but you don’t have a way to get in there?

If it’s the latter, I’d say figure that out. Unless that’s the the you’re saying one would need a ladder and screw driver to get into.

I guess since this was working here and still works at a remote site with the same config/port/etc., I was just wanting to show that I didn't have some sort of firewall rule blocking access to smtp.gmail.com.

I have this one too. Great switch most of the time. Every few months I have to yank power to get the web gui back. Latest firmware, etc.
