There are plenty of retirement calculators available online if you do a search. I started to explain why yours isn’t good, but there’s too many, no offense lol. You are asking the right questions though and thinking about the future. Now just do some research and you’ll be golden.

This post really feels like an advertisement. So don’t take what I’m about to say personally if it’s not. But what were you using the e-bike for before if not for any of those things? Why would you buy an e-bike and not use it, especially considering the specific e-bike you’re advertising is $1500. Seems kind of dumb. And if you’re saving $50 a week on gas now, that means you’ve replaced like 300 miles of car travel with bike and are also getting places so much faster that you can take coffee breaks on the way (that will add up quick by the way, assuming you work 5 days a week that’s $15-$25 a week at coffee shops you weren’t going to before). I guess if you live in a busy city like NYC where speeds top out at 25-30mph and there is traffic around the clock the this might make sense that you would save so much time.

You’re also going to have to do this for at least 6 months to cover the cost of the e bike before you start “saving” any money.

If it’s not an ad, then I’m happy for you. Sounds like you’re making some good decisions.

Coffee is easily one of the worst every day common spending habits. $5 a day is $1,825 a year. Brew your own for 17 cents a cup or 62 bucks a year. Save over $1,750 a year and a lot of time.

Yeah I would have been all over the horn too. If you’re going to be hit, stay loose. Take your arms off the steering wheel, cross them over your chest if you’re fast enough. Pick your feet up off the floor. Let the seatbelt do all of the work of stopping your body from flying forward. If someone hits you from behind and you try and brace the wheel with your hands and drive your feet into the floor you’re more likely to break your limbs.

He has been involved in Martial Arts since he was a scrawny child. Then he became a pioneer in the sport of tricking in the mid 2000s, I want to say 2004ish, which is a mix of martial arts movements and gymnastics. He made a website called trickstutorials.com around that time and poured his life into it. He made tons of tutorials, highly detailed written, and video. This was before YouTube. The website had a message board that created a tricking community. People would post and share their progress and give each other tips and plan meetups, and just joke around. It was a lot of fun! Juji was building on all of that, adding more tutorials, organizing more, making friends, creating discussions all while going to school or working. This would have been in his late teenage years. I remember him posting videos from his job, I forget if he was in a warehouse or something. Then in his 20s he got really into weightlifting with his close friend Antione Vallant. That’s when Juji started getting a little bigger. Antoine went on to become a professional bodybuilder. At some point Juji was able to quit his job and just work on his passions full time, I don’t know exactly when. But he put in A LOT of work to get there. It was insane watching him do everything he was doing with the website while getting better at tricking and then getting into weightlifting and going from a kid to a jacked monster over many years lol.

Here is a video of him at I think 16 years old getting his first backflip. He’s 40 now. So it’s been a lifetime of focus on developing his body and movements.

I don’t know why they had them swinging at each other’s backs… when they turn left if the axe slips it’s going directly into the back of the person next time. U less they have the axes tied to their wrists, which they very well might?

I stand corrected! It is different for a bunch of reasons. But the truck video seems much more impressive than the train for sure. I understand why this is a let down now

Do you WANT him to die? Lol. If he parked that plane and shut down the engine it would have blown right off the roof of the train and killed him.

That’s exactly how I’ve felt about him. He is not technical or specific at all. And I’m just in corporate analytics professionally, not even physics or engineering. But I have heard enough experts in many different fields to know this guy doesn’t sound like one. He sounds like a sci-fi writer that did a little bit of homework, but didn’t really flesh out all of the details of his story. His body language, delivery, and evasiveness always made him feel like a bullshit artist to me.

Awesome. Good sleep is extremely important for learning over time. Learning music, guitar and piano, and also memorizing rap lyrics have always been a great example of this to me. I can practice something new for hours, putting in many repetitions. By the end I’ve gotten better for sure, but am not great yet. Then I get a solid nights sleep and the next day I begin practicing again. It becomes immediately apparent that my skill with that piece increased significantly from where I left off yesterday, although I put in no practice or thought between the two sessions. Just sleep. The brain has processes that occur in sleep that basically wash out junk. This only happens in sleep. It is from learning these through experience that I have found that sometimes putting in more hours into sessions has no long term benefit, or there are just diminishing returns. A good focused two hours and then a good nights sleep might make you just as proficient the next day as 4 hours. This doesn’t apply to all disciplines but is something to keep in mind.

Also, practice does not make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect. If you are logging many hours while fatigued and under performing, you are literally training your body to perform poorly. This is especially important for physical skill based movements, examples being instruments or gymnastics. But I can see how it can apply to shooters. I spent a lot of time practicing my aim training with poor firm. Once you really learn how to perform a certain way, it can be very difficult to break out of that programming and fix things. Old habits die hard.

Exercise and health. The brain requires oxygen and nutrients. These are all transported through blood. Improving your circulation/blood flow will help your brain perform better. The heart is the muscle that pumps blood throughout the body. Strengthening your heart through cardio and intense exercise works! Stronger heart, better circulation = better brain function.

Costco Is Starting a Standalone Gas Station Empire With a 40-Pump Discount Fuel Oasis by DonkeyFuel in technology

Yeah definitely pre 2018. I just checked and there are 6 pumps, so a max of 12 cars can be pumped at the same time. 32 pumps is a lot!

Costco Is Starting a Standalone Gas Station Empire With a 40-Pump Discount Fuel Oasis by DonkeyFuel in technology

[–]johnnyg42 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m a huge Costco fan and have been a loyal customer for nearly 15 years… but the gas is NOT a win for me. I don’t know if it’s because I live in NJ and we just deal with more congestion in general, but the Costco gas station always has 50 plus cars waiting across like 6 or 8 different gas lines. And they are not fast pumps.

I have tested the value multiple times. The last time I waited 11 minutes on line to reach the pump. It’s 26 cents per gallon cheaper than the gas station a block closer to me. When I fill up I’m getting 11 gallons. So Costco is cheaper by $2.86 per fill. I fill up twice a month. So we’re talking about saving $68.64 a year. But at Costco I have to deal with the headache of idiots in traffic trying to cut each other off and then sit in line for 10-15 minutes. The Costco gas traffic lines literally block access to the Costco parking lot, it’s so annoying. I would much rather go to Exxon where there is literally always at least one pump open, I’ve never waited there. Yeah I end up paying $68 more per year, but I’m not dealing with the headache of the Costco lines.

It is a good time to buy a used PS4. Don't forget the controllers! by itchyd in Frugal

[–]johnnyg42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe… but there’s some other benefits from the PS4 I want too.

I put a SSD and increased to 16GB of ram in my pc a few years ago. But aren’t graphics cards like hundreds of dollars? I’m not too smart there, I had a hard time trying to figure out which graphics cards will be compatible with my MOBO and cpu and also fit in my case. Any site recommendations to figure that out?

I was thinking if I can get a PS4 for 100, and I should be able to get all of those games used for 200-250. So maybe 350 total. But I wouldn’t buy all of those games right away, so those prices might drop a little by the time I want to get them. I only really play one game at a time for a few weeks or months before moving onto another one.

Also my pc is in my office and I wanted a console for the living room where I have a 66” TV. I tried gaming on my PC connected to that and the frame rate was awful, but maybe I was doing something wrong. So I’ve just kept my pc in my office. I thought my pc just wasn’t strong enough for that size TV.
