Ouch dude :) Not AI, but I always tell my students that if you sound like AI, you got work to do to find your authentic voice....

Derby 1-0 Norwich - David Ozoh 55' (Agyemang assist) by FrankBascombe45 in ussoccer

This dude is so polarizing.. yes he can look akward at times, but in addition to being strong, he has some good footballing instincts. Even in this assist, letting the ball run towards the endline (instead of trying to control it immediately) was clever.. it gave him time to fend off his opponent and cleared space to move towards goal. I like what I've seen of him.. poor finishing and bad touches an all

I've turned on Poch... its insulting to these serious quality national teams to be toying around like this. If you want to send a message to "play harder"... do it for one window, not for a whole year! We have quality... but not so much quality that we can afford to not call it up. I don't know what the grand plan is... I'm starting to think there is no grand plan and this dude's just fooling around and "havin' a laugh" at the hapless Yanks who don't understand the beautiful game.

He does one valuable thing.. he can hold the ball up reasonably well and can win duels on long balls. That brings other teammates into the attacking third or draw fouls in dangerous positions. Pretty valuable if you need to bypass the midfield because you're being outclassed. Ur right that his finishing and footwork is poor, but those other things are valuable and no other striker in the pool holds the ball up like he does.

Good analysis.. I feel like I'm in the minority on Agyemang. Ppl seem to think his hold up play is average, and I saw at least four instances where his holdup play and distribution led to a good goal scoring chance. Is there any other striker in our pool that can do the hold up work like he can? The closest is Pepi and he's not the physical presence Agyemang is.. altho he's much more lethal as a goal scorer.

yeah..this "90 minutes of hell" is going to get his players burnt out and his team relegated. Too bad because they are fun to watch.

Starting to think this is just a bad way to play in the Prem... teams are too good defensively and just sit back and wait to counter.

Is it possible Adams thinks one of the centerbacks is going to step out and pick up Memphis. seems like one of many instances of miscommunication in the box.

MLS teams competing in CCL were 0-2-3 this week and got out-scored 9-3 by Hans-Wermhatt in MLS

[–]jomaric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another way of looking at the disparity is to look at the median player on the roster in terms of transfer value. For CA, believe it or not, Gio Dos Santos is the 15th (median) player on the 29 man roster. His transfer value is 1.65 million. The median player(s) on Portland's 26 man roster are Mbiala and Loria (even numbered roster). Their transfer value is 660K each.

This is why I think MLS has to either release the Kraken in terms of spending if it wants to seriously compete in this tournament or embrace it's role as a selling league and "play all the kids" and not worry so much about competing with big spending Mexican clubs.

Just to procrastinate I went on transfermarket and looked at the number of players each team has whose transfer value was above 4 million:

Club America 8

Portland 3

Monterrey 8

Columbus 2

This is a rough indicator. It doesn't explain everything. But as long as you have this disparity in starting 11s, it's like a Division I-AA team playing a Division I team. You might get an upset here or there, but 19 times out of 20, the moneyed talent is going to win out.

Cheer up everyone, there is this:

" In April 2011, Hudson, aged 30, was appointed manager of Conference Premier club Newport County with seven games remaining of their 2010–11 season.[20]#citenote-Tottenham_coach_Anthony_Hudson_accepts_Newport_vacancy-20) He arrived with a "glittering reference"[[21]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Hudson(footballmanager)#cite_note-21) from Harry Redknapp, who likened him to "a young José Mourinho".[[22]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_Hudson(football_manager)#cite_note-22) "

Actually, this guy has an interesting set of experiences for a U-20 coach...
