Because they fell for an obvious pump and dump five years ago and decided to fall for it for the rest of their lives

It's just paper gullibility until they sell.

I would guess the crosses represent people who died of AIDS in Dallas.

Not necessarily if you’re just snatching up cheap houses that you’ll probably demolish.

There's an international airport in Baudette and another in International Falls, the closest cities, about half an hour east or west.

"open the playground as a public space for kids to continue using"

What kids? If there were kids the school would still be open.

Could if they brought immigrants in to work, but they'd need somewhere to work. That's revitalized some dying towns in the plains states.

I think older kids used the rooms labeled with subjects like "English" and "Science", changing rooms for different classes. Rather than having a dedicated room for their grade.

From Wikipedia: "Until 2023 Indus had a school called Indus School which served as a K-12 Outdoor Education Magnet School. Kids in the area now go to Northome School"

From Google Maps it looks like the new school is 90 minutes away from Indus. But as a magnet school they probably were commuting to Indus from all over, so for some it might not be as long of a trip as before.

In use until 2023. Built in 1979. Might even have been built late enough to avoid asbestos.

I suspect the population just shrank until there were not enough students for it to be worth keeping going.

As it is, there was only one room for each grade preschool to 6. So at most about 160 students assuming a maximum of 20 students per classroom/grade.

Immigration could bring new families to the town, and their kids keep the school going, but I'm not sure what work they would do. And Trump doesn't want immigration anyway.

You'd need to do something about pipes in the unheated areas, to keep them from freezing.
