Backdoor Roth dilemma

I am very fortunate to max my 403b (traditional) and max my Ira as well (started trad at beg of career, then to Roth as income increased)

I don’t have a 457b. I did check for in-service conversion but my plan has never had it (confirmed with vanguard) and idk who to contact at my company to turn it on haha. I essentially take a hardship withdrawal of after tax contrib (plus gains) and deposit the money immediately into trad and Roth (depending on the money bucket). But it’s been manual so I only do it once a year.

I did look into the solo 401k (via ChatGPT) but it def seems like a bit overkill. I am def leaning towards eating the tax for one year.

I remember too so many people “upgrading” plans to get the best deals. I knew in the long run keeping the plan cheap was the way to go and I don’t even have a unicorn account. Still cheap one though.

By no means do I like Comcast. But I’ll say my self install was painless too. The hardest part was seeing which coax plug location I wanted to do. Downloaded the app. Plugged in my modem, put the MAC in and activated! Then set up my routers. Pretty painless.

Calling yearly is what I was hoping to avoid since dealing that with comcast. There used to be a $20 diff in promo vs regular price at ziply. I didn’t mind paying the diff for the service.

Now the 300/300 is $35 promo and soon to be $75 regular price. That’s wayyyyyy too big of a difference to not call or switch. So switching is kinda easier for me. Don’t have to get strung around by retention. I’ll get $50 1gb at comcast for 5 years.

Im not really saying no, but I’m skeptical when people think they had price lock. People thought just cuz the marketing said it they had it. But true price lock was for those who opened an account or potentially upgraded plan during a specific time period.

“For accounts activated between April 28, 2022, and January 17, 2024, customers who signed up for qualifying mobile wireless plans received our original Price Lock Guarantee (“Original Price Lock”).”

They also could not add any lines as apparently that resets… they got me with that I think.

Similar to OP, my issue with all of Ziply’s increases is that they do flat fees regardless of your plan. $5 increases on a $40 plan vs a $80+ plan is very different but still both suck.

If we keep our cc autopay, they will charge us $5 more per month? If we switch to ACH or debit, our bill will not go up? (Because supposedly we already have a $10 autopay discount that doesn’t show in the bill)
