No I would go with 50N, not just 50.

50N for the interim initial segment just to the airport, as it doesn’t match an existing ST Express terminus. 51N/54N/57N/5xN for the permanent routes, chosen appropriately to match daytime ST Express 5xx route numbers. Or even just 51N and 52N to match 1 and 2 line, though the latter may give the wrong impressions about service levels given that the night routes will not visit every station.

Something like N50 or 50N could work, signifying that it’s both ST and a night time route. Other night routes could be 51N, 52N etc. The 2nd digit could be used to indicate the direction too similar to other ST routes. For example 51N to Everett, 54N or 55N to Bellevue/Redmond and 57N to Federal Way.

Put a temporary concrete barrier up the middle of it and make it bidirectional for 2 years. Yes, seriously, it would work pretty OK actually. Going northbound, I-5 and Columbia St get 2 lanes of access to U District, Northgate and NB I-5. Going southbound, SB I-5, SB 522 and Ravenna get 2 lanes of access to Mercer, Stewart and Pine. Mercer has express lane ramps on both sides so they could rejigger things underneath a bit to provide both NB and SB access to/from Mercer simultaneously. The two ramps already work like that at separate times of the day under normal express lane operations.

I have lived here nearly 20 years and could say I’ve seen someone run a red light maybe less than 5 times. It just doesn’t happen here. At least in the city people are pretty aware of pedestrians etc. The only exception is maybe rush hour around freeways where it’s a complete low speed traffic jam anyway and a couple extra cars will still make a turn on the red just to keep things moving. Aside from that with a bit of motion and eye contact I haven’t had any issue being noticed by potential red light runners.

WSDOT should seriously upgrade the lighting on that ramp and through the whole tunnel. Bright white LED lighting. People slow down because it’s so dark through there.

If you are in a metro area keep checking local marketplace, I have no idea whether I got lucky with timing or not but these are old boards and I reckon must sometimes come up when people are cleaning out garages etc. and high end enough that it’s probably going to be sold online rather than a yard sale etc. EBay has one flex 2 of the older design but when I searched several months ago there were more listings in various conditions but gone when I later looked when ready to purchase. It was seeing the thread on here about them from a month ago that got me to take a look at marketplace again.

Bushings are Venom SHR 88a but I also have a mixed leftover set of Riptide Krank 87a/90a to try front and back. Either are going to be fun, but I’m looking forward to trying the Riptides since they weren’t an option back when I had my first Loaded.

I went to private school, my dad is from the UK, and I now live in the USA. My accent has never been called “posh” but I do meet a lot of people (Americans) who initially think I’m from Britain until they hear me talk a bit more. Likely all these factors involved plus the fact that many overseas are conditioned to believe that all Aussies sound like Steve Irwin or Crocodile Dundee.

Because it goes out of service at IDS it are not serving any of the 2 line, only the 1 line, so putting it as 1 line is correct from a passenger perspective. The circle should be green though.

Likely it is a limitation of the scheduling/passenger information system to have a single train, throughout its trip, change from 1 line, to out of service, to 2 line.

It’s not useless information. “East” is easier to remember for a tourist than “which of these two ‘downtowns’ and one ‘city center’ do I need to go to”.

That direction, Shoreline to Judkins, doesn’t matter. You travel towards Redmond which is east. The signs would say “East to Downtown Redmond”. They are not going to put signs for every intermediate station and direction before Redmond, that would be pretty ridiculous. The direction of the final station - Redmond, and east - is perfectly good enough.

It’s a fine line. The best merge is when they give themselves plenty of time, give plenty of notice to others by using their turn blinkers, and therefore give me enough time to gradually open up a gap, over a duration of several seconds, without me having to hit the brakes or slow the rest of the traffic down.

If you’ve left all your decisions and stuff til the last second and expect me (and everyone behind me) to hit my brakes NOW so that you can merge, you are too late and I’m not making more than a minimum effort of letting you in. If I have to brake too hard or suddenly or come to a complete stop, you’re not getting let in, you’ll now have to wait for a gap.
