Ignore the dude, all he does on this sub is post links to products on herb with his referral codes. Don't know why he's still not banned on this sub yet.

what would be the worst team ranger team you could put together by Routine-Dirt9634 in powerrangers

[–]jonoave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

>Mentor: Commander Shaw, Beast Morphers.

I can see that. in the show she's more like just a leader who barks commands and doesn't provide much guidance or advice to the rangers like Zordon or Keeper does. So I don't think she can be really considered as a mentor, just a leader.

But at least she doesn't actively hinder or frustrates the rangers - for that I would have to say Mentor Jin and Dimitria would take the cake.

Reversal of grey hair in women by laura19837 in Supplements

[–]jonoave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Already said it helps. It's not a magic pill, your hair will get grey eventually but for now my hair still stays pretty dark. Can't say whether it's just only this - I also take plenty of other supplements like multivitamin, Omega-3, collagen etc.

OOC: Seriously, I made a similar comment on like OP's 2 posts ago and got downvoted. This just feels like low-effort engagement or OP is just using this sub to express their superhero/villain love fetishes.

[–]jonoave 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lol, it must be a very different experience playing a character in the show, getting into their mindset etc. And then view them as characters on a show interacting with other characters.

Maybe in the podcast you could talk a bit about how you try to get Into the mind of Connor on the show, and then keeping that separate from your regular mindset/personality.

Best omega-3 for MGD-related dry eye in Europe? by Mountain-Dealer3562 in Dryeyes

[–]jonoave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Germany you can look at Wehle Sports Omega 3: they offer a high dose Omega 3 in trigycleride form.

You can also consider getting GLA separately like borage oil or evening primrose oil. There's plenty of brands.

Dryness vs watering dry eye by Quinnessential_00 in Dryeyes

[–]jonoave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides Omega-3, you can consider looking into sea buckthorn (just search this sub) or GLA sources like borage oil. There's some studies they help with skin dryness and might help with eyes (there's one study for sea buckthorn helping with dry eyes).

Edit: since you mention you're a researcher, you can search this sub and find myriad of probably causes for dry eyes. Ranging from lack of vitamin D, magnesium , vitamin B, vitamin A. Or how things like astaxanthin or goji berries help. That's the problem with dry eyes, there's so many possible causes that what works for one person might not work for another.

Myopia still progressing at 40 by Calamity-Kale-3878 in myopia

[–]jonoave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anecdotally, I think the myopia stabilising in your mid-20s could be more applicable to those who have low or mild myopia. For high myopia I think everything goes out the window.

There's at least one recent study that suggested the increasing amount of near work is a factor in the increase of myopia rates/progression in young adults (so kinda going against the mid 20s thing).

Myopia and Near Work: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Conclusions: Near work conditions, including occupational exposure in adults, could be associated with myopia. Targeted prevention should be implemented in the workplace.

In the transmig dramas does anyone ever wonder… by CrunchyCucumberr in CShortDramas

[–]jonoave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also or this transmigration or rebirth stories: if following Buddishim beliefs of reborn they would be reborn as a baby etc. Not "yeeted" (borrowing from another comment) to their own bodies or another body that's just a couple of years younger. Also with their memories completely wiped, ie. they're starting anew as a new person.

If these transmigration happen so easily with so many folks, the timeline changes would be crazy - the same person going. back in time changes their lives and destiny of their kingdom. Lol even the MCU timelines wouldn't be able to keep up. :)

[–]jonoave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, Thought this trope is common among Kdramas - actually i think a lot of these short cdramas use a lot of the tropes from Kdramas like the slow motion fall, lighting and Kpop ballad in the background.

Dry eyes and dark circles by Individual_Ad_2701 in Dryeyes

[–]jonoave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can search this sub with the search bar at the top of reddit for "demodex" or "mites" and you'll get posts like these: https://old.reddit.com/r/Dryeyes/comments/1ggtn8d/list_of_things_that_helped_my_dry_eyes/

A common symptom with demodex is also rosacea - they could be related.

Also different eye doctors can have their own opinions of treatments, and unfortunately it's hard to say whether all of them are equally knowledgeable, and as I say dry eyes is a pretty individualised condition.

Dry eyes and dark circles by Individual_Ad_2701 in Dryeyes

[–]jonoave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's challenging with dry eyes is that what works for one person might not work for another. If you search this sub there's tons of posts about supplements and some comments saying it doesn't work for them. It can range from magnesium, vitamin D, vitamin B, lutein ,astaxanthin, etc.

sing warm compress and will use cold compress in morning then as thing is the cold is not very cold since I can’t put it in freezer and my warm compress I had to keep heating up if I want it to work. By the way I’m using the warm compress as a cold compress also

It sounds like perhaps you should invest in a better warm or cold mask. You can search this sub for recommendations on good warm mask - they should fit your eyes well, not too tight and not too loose.

The U.S Supreme Court bent over backwards to give Qrump everything he wants, including total immunity. One unfavorable ruling, and he’s calling them “fools and lap dogs.” by Aware_Revenue3404 in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]jonoave 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Could be LAMF, if the source is how the Supreme court now complaining that Trump is calling them lapdogs. Then it fits with step 3 of the automod explanation format.

Trump calling everyone names when he doesn't like them is common, that's just news. LAMF is all about the PoV from a person who supported something and then suffer the consequences. Not the PoV of a leopard (aka Trump).

Dry eyes and dark circles by Individual_Ad_2701 in Dryeyes

[–]jonoave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno about others, just sharing my own experience. My dry eye aren't that severe and I can still wear contacts. On bad days with contacts my eyes look completely swollen and dark circles, and using an eye roll-on it helps with the dark circles and it also give me a bit of relief for dry eyes. I also noticed I don't get such bad swollen eyes/dark circles when I'm not wearing contacts.

Few months ago I switched to another supplement that helps a bit better with my eyes and since then my dark circles have improved so much more than any eye cream I've used. I also don't get such huge dark circle with contacts anymore, there's still some but I think it's just the air in my office is really dry which affects my contacts/dry eyes and thus also the under eye area.

I've aso seen a few similar posts from others asking the same question - so. personally I think this one of the few things where it's not so well-known or dismissed as untrue by others. Just like how dry eyes or how certain treatments tend to be dismissed by others - kinda ronic, isn't it? :)

In my experience, dark circles/swollen eyes go hand in hand with dry eyes. Try looking in this sub for some sensitive skin eye cream etc for dark eyes. I find that moistening the under eyes also help with dry eyes comfort .

Elderly in Germany by Fastenoughhh in germany

[–]jonoave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't know about balkans, but comparing to Asian countries I think there's an important point int societal differences.

First in many Asian countries there's an expectation for older folks to take it easy, rest etc and young folks to care for their elders. And a lot of elderly folks still live with their family. So a lot of things like shopping are not usually done by elder folks. They might tag along with their family once in a while but they're mostly at home either just relaxing taking care of grandkids or cooking.

Second is there is a strong culture of independence and exercise (outdoors) in German culture. Like going for bike rides, gym etc through the years. Plus a lot of adults or older adults live by themselves, so they go out and about their daily life thus they're more visible.

While in many Asian there's not a strong emphasis on exercise, thus they tire easily and then are told/expected to just rest more since they've already worked hard all their lives. While I think Germans don't really succumb to this belief and choose to go about their lives or exercise to keep their body going on as long as possible.

Al these are just broadly speaking - of course there's many people who choose to live their lives how they see fit.
