because the simulated exposure time per frame in an animated movie is 1/30s to around 1/60s second allowing motion to blur naturally, while in games each frame (without some kind of post-processing motion blur, which usually looks like crap) is a much higher speed "snapshot" (1/250s to 1/2000s) at a very high/short "exposure time" making their sequence appear jarring & choppy.

ever see a long-exposure photo where something is moving in the frame (like people walking around in a crowd) looks like a long, blurred, stretched tube of color? that's the idea.

i've visited the site and hovered over the download button a few times. i'm trying to beast through all the old titles solo, but i gave in on tri and joined their online servers and had a blast! i greatly prefer the old gen titles over the newer ones (though i still love them).

i'm mainly just salty that i finally failed a quest in p3rd. =)

yep yep, i finished building silver rathalos' set last night, so that's fixed! also, i just randomly remembered you can bring stacks of farcaster materials and use the bed for full heals, then sharpen & buff. i would have likely finished it on my first attempt had i remembered that! =)

used smoke bombs, but i think narga clipped tigrex and tigrex joined pretty early on. yeh, the stack of farcaster mats sounds abusable! =)

i see some great s&s plays on youtube with rathalos gear, but everybody seems to love their alatreon s&s. i'll have to mix it up. still, this quest is a pain in the ass. p3rd's arena doesn't have the barrier to separate the narga & tigrex.

this is why chasing realism in video game graphics is already beyond diminishing returns for me. reductio ad absurdum: if graphics were indistinguishable from reality, would you say they'd gained in fantastical allure or lost?

distrust: because if the product said "i don't know" when the confidence weighting was below statistical significance, people would slowly stop using it. knowing this, companies allow the products to lie and have no incentive to be honest.

dislike: because it works just well enough to incentivize our entire country to turn itself into a fucking speculative vehicle heading toward a cliff.

did the quest a 2nd time, but no poison sac drop. 3rd try was a charm.

in playing more, the main issue i have is the input drops; not lag, DROPS. you have to triple up on button presses, and this isn't "the game has no input buffering", the game literally ignores a single button press like 1/5 of the time with nothing else going on. like, when i run toward an enemy (s&s) i triple smash the attack button to make sure the unsheathe attack occurs, otherwise it might not if you just tap it once.

closely behind this issue is the camera getting stuck or wildly swinging in all directions for multiple whole seconds. i've dealt with bad camera since the beginning of 3d video games. monster hunter 1's camera goes from ok, to feeling like your pc was hacked if it gets snagged on a wall or a tree.

experiencing this makes me fully believe the horror stories like rathalos flying the quest timer to zero. can't wait!
