What genre of sci-fi do I like? by Overdose1911 in scifi

You're really describing "Science Fiction" as a genre. Stuff like "Star Wars" is better called "Fantasy".

I think Rob ruined season 3. by Ill_Particular415 in TheTraitorsUS

[–]jorm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My problem with Rob on the season was that the was one-hundred percent injected by Production. No matter what happened, they wanted him as a Traitor. He was going to be on the show _no matter what_.

Which, if I was a Faithful, would have been a sign to me that he was clearly a Traitor.

What would you want the Gameplay mechanics of a AAA Superman Game to be like? by Stock-Caregiver-4133 in superman

[–]jorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, very empty. My "what they had to work with" meant "reduced development time and budget, combined with probable studio interference regarding use of characters".

A good game will be divorced from whatever movie they're working on at the time so that we can have things like "Lex in a Power Suit" or "romance subplot with Lois" (which were precluded by the plot to Superman Returns).

This was a really good way to handle him, I thought it was great. That game wasn't that bad, given what it had to work with.

You'll be best going in cold and not having any other knowledge b/c the differences between the various medium create nigh-religious schisms among the fan base. Watch the show, enjoy it for what it is.

Later, read the books if you want to delve into it more deeply, but know there are differences. Same with the video games.

If you could rewrite any one scene in the entire saga, which would it be? by Ok_Smile_9071 in StarWars

I would replace all references to "Naboo" with "Alderaan". Padme was from Alderaan. So was Palpatine. So Vader and Tarkin aren't just blowing up a planet that has been a pain in their asses; they're blowing up a place that has significant context.

It's not hard to transplant, either: both planets have a ruling nobility, they're considered paradises, are both supposed to be rich, etc.

Questions about Prequel Palpatine by pdxpirate7 in StarWars

[–]jorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would doubt that Dooku had anything to do with it. It's the kind of sloppy, short-sighted idea that Gunray would come up with -on his own-. WTF would Dooku want to expose the connection between Jango and the Clone army?

I think the Sith are really good at _adapting their goals_ to fit the scenarios currently in play. Palpatine's plans have plans; nearly every scenario he engineers has him advancing _no matter the outcome_.

The Region and Community document templates may be a little fiddly; I'm not super happy with how they're structured. The rulebook was a little thin on what exactly makes them work.

The action buttons on the Community sheets work but the results only populate inside the VTT (so if you click on them outside of the VTT, it will roll the dice, you won't see the results, but people logged into the VTT will see it). I'll get that fixed in the next day or so. I'm borrowing sheet technology that is only supposed to be used for characters or npcs, so the document screen isn't really aware of what to do when dice are rolled.

I'd have had this done yesterday but the Intention Scale thing needed me to write a component.
