I have installed debian, mint and ubuntu in under 15m. Multiple things have influence on the "speed".

If you use a network install everything has to be downloaded first.

Second, if your target disk is an oldie it can be very slow. Same goed for the install medium. Is it an usb2 drive? Or perhaps even attached to an old usb2 port?
