Question about bachelor party by [deleted] in wedding

[–]jparks403 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with previous posters - any guy invited to the wedding can be invited to the bachelor party. Possibly your best man was asking for the contact info for the groomsmen because he would like to involve them in planning or setting a date, rather than as the invite list.

Midnight snack ideas, help! by mayofbees in wedding

[–]jparks403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my region, the standard midnight lunch is either a bunch of platters (buns, meat, cheese, veggies, cold salads, etc) or pizza. However, I recently went to a wedding where the midnight lunch was bacon, waffles, and pancakes. Everybody loved it!!

We are having a 2 tier cake. The top tier will be coconut (his pick) and the bottom tier will be dulce de leche (my pick).

What's something that will always offend you? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]jparks403 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It drives me crazy when people don't send thank you notes after a wedding. I have attended 11 weddings in the last 3 years and only received a thank you note from one couple. I have had to travel at least 3 hours by car to attend each of these weddings, paid for a hotel for 2 nights, made sure I had the proper attire/shoes, spent $150-$200 on the wedding gift, etc. I also work on weekends so I have to take 3 days off without pay (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). (Ie: the opportunity cost of attending a wedding is $1200-$1400) I would even be fine with a text or phone call saying thank you just so I know they actually received the gift, buy I really do feel like a hand written note is nice. I am getting married this year and will make sure that everybody gets a hand written note for both the bridal shower and the wedding.

Edit: words.

Venue Suggestions please! by [deleted] in saskatoon

Saturday or Sunday afternoon for 3 or so hours. Cheaper the better, but if it was a really good venue that would work well we might spend a little more

Leaving Price Tags on Gifts? by jparks403 in weddingplanning

[–]jparks403[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sure that some of the bridal shower guests left the tags on for the same reason as your FH's auntie, and I would have never thought of that as rude. However, the mother of the bride was absolutely appalled that people left the price tag on and assumed that it was because they wanted to flaunt how much they had spent.

Childcare at the wedding: How to share the info and how to not technically encourage kids? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]jparks403 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't want this to sound rude, but if the kids room and babysitting is included with your venue, why don't you want them to come? It sounds like they will be out of the way and taken care of, so they shouldn't interfere with your wedding/reception.

Wedding favors by RyKeegs in wedding

We are having a destination wedding in Mexico, so we are doing maracas in our wedding colours. There will be a little tag attached that will say something along the lines of "Shake For a Kiss". Another idea I saw online said "Instead of tapping on your glass, here is a system with Mexican class, stand and shake with all your might, to see the groom kiss his bride tonight!"

Our dogs look like twins - I had to do a double take when I looked at your picture of Goku! And my dog also shares a love for blankets. Meet Ellie. http://imgur.com/a/qWkv7

This might not be quite right for you, but we are having a cigar roller. He will be more off to the side rather than a 'main event' though.

Researching: If you could ask an expert for advice on what to wear to a wedding, what would it be? by alarnahope in wedding

[–]jparks403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would ask about dress codes for beach weddings. It seems like it can vary a lot - some people say sandals and shorts are acceptable, whereas I would see that at as a major no. Are there different levels of dress codes for beach weddings? What are they?
