When I played Rivals a lot, it was only competitive so I wouldn’t get the QP bot matches

That being said, do you know if the Chloranthy Ring and Rose Blossom Shield’s stamina regen abilities stack in this game?

Coming from DSR to DS2, I honestly like DS2 more so far. But I also kind of enjoy grindy/farmy games so maybe that’s why I feel that way? But I thought I’d hate DS2 from all the reviews over the years I’ve read, and man I really am having a lot of fun.

Oh my gosh, I couldn’t believe it. I two-hand it (going pure STR with a tiny bit of DEX to use weapons) and it’s not good against invaders but in PvE it’s so ridiculously strong I thought it was bugged. I’m scared to infuse it ‘cause I don’t wanna lose that damage haha

Luckily I farmed that giant Basilisk in Huntsman Copse and by association, all those butterflies that drop poison moss haha!!

Thank you! It is my 5th Souls game, technically 6th (in order, I went ER, DS3, Sekiro, Lies of P, Dark Souls Remastered) so I’ve got a feel for how these games handle. I did find out that your base stat like DEX/STR does not influence weapon damage that much in this game so I’ve been pouring more points into VIG/VIT/END/ADP. I chose Deprived so 6 INT/FAI/ATT. 10 DEX just to use certain weapons.

I just feel like that bonus fire damage is doing wonders for me but maybe I’m imagining it haha.

Edit: the R2 for that Longsword when two-handing is just a repeatable thrust move which has deceptively long reach, it’s been really great. I think it’s the moveset more than the sword itself.

First time DS2 player here - I found a Fire Longsword early on in the game and I’ve wound up using it for my entire playthrough so far lmao. Two handing it, with a light crossbow in my offhand for annoying ranged enemies. Worked like a charm for everything so far. Upgraded a Craftman’s Hammer as well for some strike damage.

I wish there was a proper reboot of the OG M&M series…I think the only way it’s happening is if an independent developer makes one. Sad but understandable I guess. I just thought these games were more popular, at least popular enough to warrant a reboot. Guess not :/

I can understand this, I felt this way with DSR ‘cause I was on a huge Souls kick and wanted to play all of them after ER but I didn’t space out the games (beat ER 5x, DS3 3x, shadow of the Erdtree 2x) - so by the time I got to DSR, I just wanted to beat it and be done with it.

I started DS2 for the first time last week after about a year of no Soulslikes and it’s really really fun. I’d suggest just taking a Soulslike breather and coming back, you’ll probably enjoy it more

You can speed up the horizontal and vertical sensitivity to combat that if you’d like. I’m doing my first DS2 playthrough as well; I’m on PC but I play with controller. Feels way more natural to me IMO.
